Recently bough a 2008 IP G37S 6MT.

I was looking under my shift boot and noticed what appears to be an errand wire under it.

Has anyone ever seen this or know what it is?

It appears to run up into the center stack to the radio area.

It's most likely the connection for the iPod in your center console. That's the only wiring I can think of that would be right there

 

Doesnt look like it came from the factory. Someone probably installed something. Trace it and see where it ends up.

 

it could be to disable the thing we do not talk about on this board.

 

I thought about that, but my Nav works like normal.

 

Could be the signal cable meant for the backup camera... that is if your car doesn't have one.

 

better check your car thoroughly..

Well then, I didn't realize it would be that easy to get my nav working... Although we don't apparently talk about this...

The second picture looks like it's a grounding wire. Would be interested to find out what it is.

Shifter lockout for a 7AT??

You know, cant remove it from park unless the brake is on.

 

I got a freebee that looks like that from Adam&Eve, but it doesn't bend and it's purple. Not sure what its for, my guess is it's a colon cleansing kit.
