RIP Alicia, but happy birthday to me!

well my insurance totaled out Alicia, my beloved 2003 Lexus IS300.

I ended up getting myself a birthday gift (signed the papers 3 days after my actual birthday): a 2008 G37S! No name yet, but she has 47K miles, a tan interior (sorry I don't know the official name of the color), purchased for $28K + TTL (blue book was $31K, so it's not a bad deal!)

First off, I was quick to register, and noticed I had left my time settings on EST, when I'm actually in CST. Where can I change this?

Here's some eye candy to get started. This was taken with my BlackBerry Curve the day I signed for it. It was like a pit stop with the two guys hustling in the background peeling the stickers off and putting the finishing touches on it for me (I had a flight to catch in less than an hour after that )

Very nice. Congratulations and welcome...

I notice "pending mods" in your signature? Care to share your plans?

I haven't decided on anything definite yet, but I liked the bolt-ons on my IS300 and was wanting to go that route (definitely no F/I, at least for the near future; I'm still getting use to the extra power compared to the IS )

Here's what I'm working with:
I like the current exhaust note; something similar but louder at WOT would be great (if it helps, I had the Stillen exhaust on my IS and I loved it).
It's somewhat hilly, and we have steep driveways where I am, so an aggressive drop is a no-no. Maybe a 1"-1.5" all around?
I've read that drop-in air filters don't do much, but I like the option of just cleaning reusable K&N filters instead of replacing paper ones - any thoughts?)
I'd love some nice rims & tires, but I'm always afraid of curbing them Anyone with suggestions for good maintenance/repairs for curb rashes just in case? I've come across the Permatex Wheel Restoration Kit, but there are mixed reviews on that.

All in all, our cars seems pretty well-tuned to begin with, but I'm open to suggestions, so any feedback is welcome!

Eibach drop, invidia Gemini catback (those two you talked about fit the criteria of these) I have these and I love them. Do it do it.

She's beautiful. I got the 2008 G37S Blue Slate a couple months ago.

People on this site are super helpful and don't argue about dumb stuff (except for what oil to use..... JK LOL) so enjoy.

By the way, monitor your brakes carefully as well. There's a known issue with brake judder and I just got my rotors replaced under warranty still.

right, I could HAVE

I didn't have much bargaining power at the time however. The settlement from my total loss was used to pay back other debt, so I started with only $500 down. Anyways, the dealer I got it from has received mostly positive reviews (Home Apple Sport Imports Austin Texas 78726), and what can I say, the saleswoman was hot

Congrats! I'm a fellow Texan. Hill country is so much fun to drive in our cars.
