trade in G37 coupe for IS250?

that's what I am considering to do... Had a few problems with the car that never got resolve, I could go the Lemon route but don't really want to deal with Infiniti products again.

Had a quote for a 2010 Lexus IS 250 w/ manual trans. for $27k otd, not including sale tax here (another $1800). No other option except for the value Premium option which added heated and cooling seats. I'll miss the styling of the G, memory seat, garage door opener, HID head lights, and more power. But everything else the G had, the IS has.

Some would depend to me on if they would end up just repairing the car, refunding or replacing it with regards to the lemon laws for your state.

1) If just repair, then trade in and get the Lexus
2) Refund or replace, if you like the Infiniti if yours wasn't a lemon, get a 2011.
3) If the very thought of owning an Infiniti/Nissan now makes you angry even if they refund or replace, get the Lexus.

I'm basing this on a) My own personal experiences (I have a 2009 G37x that hasn't had any issues at all) b) I haven't seen too many complaints about 2010's and not that many about 2009's so I assume most or all of the bugs are ironed out now, and the 2011 would be pretty problem free.

I am clueless on what exactly you can get via the lemon laws, I've never researched them since I've never had a lemon. But anyway hope this helps somehow. This is my attempt to be non-biased despite being as much of an Infiniti fanboy as I can be now even though I dislike the concept of being a fanboy of anything.

attain an attorney and have them deal with it. how tall are you? the is250's INCREDIBLY small, not nimble, ugly and incredibly slow. slight bias? yes.

go to the lemon route!!!

if the problems you have qualify for a lemon law, go for it. Might as well try to get them to repurchase your car than trading it in now and getting raped on the trade in value.

I test drove the IS 250 myself. It's a smooth ride, but lacks character and feels lifeless. Ultimately, it's all about your preferences though.

you know if you said IS 350 I would've told you go for it since its better in many ways than the G, butif you do decide to go with the IS 250 you will want to kill yourself because it is slow! one might argue that it doesnt matter I say it matter a **** load because once you get used to the extra horsepower in little spots where it matters, and move to the IS 250 it will be teeth grindingly hair pulling why the **** isnt this moving slow. my .02

As an owner of an IS250 (my wife’s) I can say you may be disappointed in it after driving a G37. The power is just not there and the harsh ride from those low profile tires is somewhat bothersome. Perhaps an IS350 is a better choice, but that’s another $5,000 and I believe it still only comes with AT. But contrary to what you said, it does have homelink to open your garage. But having driven both for a few years now, I would stick with the G37.

Why not just get a 37 sedan instead of the Lexus, you probably just had the one bad car. Give it one more try.

I don't think that is a good trade at all.

It's more like a downgrading from a really good luxury sport car to a boring old sedan. But that is just me.

Exactly, but the IS-F is not really a good idea either. Just note that it cost more than a BMW M3 !! Why would anyone buy that car is beyond me.

Yeah, I have read in many many places that the 2008 G are filled with issues because it's the 1st year new model. 2009,10,11 G are a ton more refine and problem free. Which is what drove me into buying a brand new 2011 G coupe than buying a used one.

Oh wow that's a serious downgrade my disgruntled fellow G owner friend. Were you recently demoted? Cause thats what it's going to feel like. Hopefully you won't get runover trying to pull out the Lexus dealership thinking you can still accelerate.

just pick up a certified pre owned & done.
yes is-f is way more $$ it's more than an m3 lexus is bugging.
personally I like lexus brand, but the is250 a sports car, not if you go from 330hp in the g,down to 204hp. That's 126hp less.
unless you don't care about performance go for it,but once a g walks/fly on by, then you'll say damn I should have kept the g.
wanna get ripped by a soccer mom in her 276hp v6 camry.?
