I agree with all of this except the ugly ... I like the IS shape BTW ...our 2008 Journey has been great ...no issues other than warped rotors. Got those and the brakes replaced for free at 32k miles.

Feel the power of the Lexus IS250 ! Wait, I mean of a 1998 Honda Accord V6, or a new 4 cylinder Hyundai Sonata, or a 1995 Mazda Millenia.... the oldest car I mentioned has the most power, 210, but it's from a 2.3 liter V6 ! ;D A near 20 year old Mazda designed 2.3 liter V6 is still more efficient than a brand new 2.5 liter V6 from Lexus, Miller Cycle engine > Otto Cycle engine.

The only Lexus worth getting is an IS-F.

The IS is a nice car, but the 2.5L V6 is a pretty gutless motor. You're taking nearly a 130HP loss. That's worth the $5k extra to get into an IS350.

Personally, I'd look into getting a G37S 6MT Sedan if I were you tho'.

well, you guys are really opinionated and I asked for it! point taken. I think part of my motivation was the deal offered on the 250, and the other is the inferiority I feel toward the Infiniti product and service that I unfortunately received: trading in the G37 for the 250 is not advisable, may be practical, and might be a bit more reasonable in my case.

Don't get me wrong, I have an infatuation with the G37, that's why I got it in the first place. I had also considered the G37 sedan w/ manual trans., will see

Fiancee and I are fed up with the G coupe as well so she forced me to check out the IS350AWD. We liked the drive, very smooth, nice pick-up but the size of it, being a four door, was really compact. We're currently looking at the E350 coupe as our dealership is willin got get us out of this and into another Ray Catena car...

I'd get an IS300 over the IS250 if I was going to go that route.

The IS250 is not a bad car. It's on par with the G25 and I think the 250 looks better, except for the rear leg room. If you have a grown up bone in your body, you are not racing around the streets like an idiot utilizing all of the 330hp the G37 offers. The IS250 is a nice luxury car, has a nice interior, awesome gauges, gets great mileage, it's very reliable, and it looks awesome. Big f-n deal it doesn't have 300+ hp. The G37 is not even considered fast anymore by today's standards when a base V8 mustang is deep into the 12s in the 1/4 mile, and can match an M3 around a track with a $2600 sport package added to it's 30k base price.

I'd say, drive the IS for another 30 to 40 miles if the test drive permits, and see how you like it. The engine is not a complete dog, but it will not be a G37.

The IS250 engine is basically 4 cylinder size and power(Honda Accord 2.4 I-4 makes 190 horsepower for comparison), but it's in a more refined V6 shape. So a 2.5 N/A Inline 4/V6 is not slow ? Haha.... You are talking Hyundai Sonata 4-cylinder slow ! RWD is pretty much useless with such little power and more of a waste.....

IDK what you like about the IS300's interior. I used to drive one. I like the G37's interior MUCH MUCH better. Even the G35's interior looks and feels better than the IS300.

Had a quote for a 2010 Lexus IS 250 w/ manual trans. for $27k otd, not including sale tax here (another $1800). No other option except for the value Premium option which added heated and cooling seats. I'll miss the styling of the G, memory seat, garage door opener, HID head lights, and more power. But everything else the G had, the IS has.
Are you a girl between the age of 18-25?

Yes --> get the IS250
No --> Keep the G and go for the lemon route

You will be greatly disappointed in the IS250. If your motivation was the good deal, have you tried your local Infiniti dealer? They are practically giving the 2010's away. Sure most of the people here are biased, but you kinda asked for it by posting here. I considered an IS-F and a GS350. Stay away from the E350, it's an old mans car. Floats all over the place. The IS-F gets about 10-12 MPG and because they crammed a big V8 under the hood, you will literally run the AC all the time. Of all the Lexus models, the F is a performance vehicle, but is very cramped and is not all that much fun to drive. The G on the other hand is all about performance, plus styling, plus comfort, and a great value. Don't let one lemon ruin the whole Infiniti thing for you. You will surely miss it. Of course you could try the Acura TL AWD if you can stomach the horrible styling. Go down and talk to the Infiniti dealer. See what they offer you on a brand new model. You won't be unhappy any longer.
