Rear Bumper

Has anyone had any issues with their rear bumbper not lining up on the outside edges? The dealer said its from the heat that the edges are starting to pop out.

Did you buy the car used? If it was used, maybe something happened to it and was not fixed properly.

Mine is popping out on the driver's side...and I can't push it back in. The car was never hit or anything. The only thing that has happened to it is the dealer backed the rear plate over the curb when I picked it up from service one time and when they pulled it forward it curved the plate up and it might have done something to the bumper.

My guess is the bumper has been replaced. I had mine replaced from a rear end collision and it did this too - it was even a genuine Infiniti replacement. It bugged me so I took off the tail lights to access the top of the bumper in that area, drilled a small hole in the top lip of the bumper, and pulled them in with stainless zip ties attached to a metal bracket at one of the bumper attachment points. Once you re-install the light, it covers everything up and you can't tell a thing. Has held up for about 20,000 miles now with no issues.

I had this exact same problem on my white '09 coupe. I bought it new and noticed it about one week or so after purchase. This is when the paint started flaking and peeling off the front clip and I carefuly inspected the entire car.
Long story short, dealer bought the car back. I know that's not helpful to you, but maybe the car was like that from the factory?

That looks so off man. I'm with Greggski, that bumper may be replaced, but if you got it new, maybe you should take it back to the dealer like AKG37 did. If the dealer says its from the heat, i say its total BS. Have it replaced man, make the dealer change a new one, and make sure it 'clips' great. That shouldn't happen to a new car. Even my front bumper that i've taken off and put back is not like that. Good luck man.

Looks like a re-manufactured replacement bumper (OEM but fixed to standards). All insurance companies will go this route first to save some money and unless the owner complains they get away with it. I had the same thing happen, I made them order a brand new one. It's now flush.

Sounds like a shady dealer that didn't tell you when you bought it. I would ask them to fix it.
