haha...well they have nothing to worry about....no one driving a g37 is using the word "joy" and "infiniti" in the same sentence without being sarcastic. Example....this thread title.

some dealers are crap & some go the extra mile.
dealer replaced brakes then pads & rotors.
have had only issue was my seat they didn't cover(bs%)
they did replace a motor,so I can't complain at all.
you have to have the right dealer.
some are ball breakers.

My Infiniti is Definitely a Joy to have. Please hurry up and sell your car. Tired of your whining.

Don't lose any sleep over it. The odds are still in your favor of having a trouble-free (or nearly trouble-free) vehicle. And since you bought used, the original owner may have already had minor issues fixed. Just keep in mind that for every owner who posts about problems, there are probably about 10 owners who don't have problems....it's just that they don't start threads when there's no issues to talk about.

Since you think your car is a hyped up altima maybe that's why you are having trouble. It's a car and some of them have trouble so either deal with it or sell the damn thing.

A malaise I say

Sad, but for all the good the Internet (Bless Al Gore) has bought us, it has, as demonstrated by this thread, made being afraid of the unknown through others' misfortune, a state-of-art malaise among Forum (of any kind) members.

2008 with 20K miles and not 1 thing needed fixed so far. Have a few complaints about cheap crap on it but nothing has broken or needed service work.

2010 g37s coupe. BRAND NEW, NOW HAS 11K

1. Rims came with the paint job ruined. has rims refinished.

2. I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK & FORTH WITH THE DEALER ABOUT A SMALL RATTLE OUT OF THE BELL HOUSING IN THE TRANNY. THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUES.
FINALLY GOT CONSUMER AFFAIRS INVOLVED, AND NOW THEY NOTICED A STRANGE RATTLE, AND ARE CHANGING THE WHOLE TRANNY.

I recently traded up my '05 G35 6MT coupe for another vehicle, pretty much because I was afraid of the cost to fix things w/o a warranty. I'm really not trying to bash Infiniti, I'm a huge fan of the G series, I'm just going to tell the facts.

I purchased my G35 6MT from an Inifniti dealer here locally and it was a 1 owner certified pre-owned. It had about 1 1/2 years left on the comprehensive warranty, which proved to be very handy. My troubles 1st started about 6 months after I purchased the car. The engine started making this very noticeable metal on metal knocking sound, so I took it by the dealership. Turns out, with more than 1000 miles left before the oil was due and well within the date range for changing, the engine was extremely low on oil. Long story short, I was given a new engine because the faulty engine failed an oil consumption test, which this was a known issue claims the dealer. Life was good for a while, then the clutch issues started. It was never fully resolved when I traded it either, but the clutch would actually stick to the floor after driving it long distance (over 80 or so miles) or around town on a really hot day. The clutch assembly was replaced by the dealer because they said it had 'excessive clearance' but no dice. I had the clutch fluid flushed and replenished because I was told it was contaminated, still no dice. I talked to my dealer multiple times and they would not replace the clutch because of it being a wearable item. I can share in the frustration some people are having with their cars but I'm still determined to get into a G37 6MT despite the issues I read about and experienced 1st hand. These really are great cars, I feel that more than a few don't get the attention they deserve before being delivered though. Like others have stated, you have to really have a good relationship with your dealer because even though the warranty says it can't replace something, there are always ways around that. Most of the time its knowing who to call beyond your dealer if they give you flack or making a lot of noise at the dealer.
