Viper 5902 Alarm / Remote start for G37 $1000?

For those who has Viper 5902 on their G37 how much did you pay for the whole thing? i went to the Viper Authorized Installer in NY L.I. and they quoted me $1000 for my G37S 6MT. It will include tilt sensor addon also. Do you guys think it is a right price and i should go for it or should i shop around for better price?

Thanks

shop around, i just bought a 5901 online with a tilt sensor backup battery and extra siren, and also the vsm200 module so i can control it with my phone for 500 bucks.

I bought it all online at the following: dealercaraudio.com for 5901, nuLime.com for vsm200, and ambientweather.com for extra accessories.

Just google n shop around, just have it sent to you and pay the 100 bucks to have them install it.

Sorry to jack your thread, but $500 doesn't sound like a bad deal. Where did you get it installed?

Thanks

the fact that your car is a 6mt is going to make it more expensive than what AT folks would pay. it's more equipment and more complicated for an installer. i would say $1000 installed is not a bad price but shop around. you can usually get the systems for cheaper if you buy them online and then just pay for the install separate. i know best buy does these installs and they're usually like $100 - $150 but i'm not sure if they are capable of doing it on a MT also. as whiddles said below you can find the system for around $339.

Not really, only difference between an AUTO and M/T is that the installer would need to connect 1 extra wire called the "Neutral Safety Switch". If you consider that a lot of extra work and equipment then I'm not sure what to tell you

i wouldn't even dare to put a remote start in my 6mt.

i saw one 6mt coupe installed wiht a remote start and the guy hacked into the wrong wires voiding his whole warranty -- yes it was a viper authorized installer too.

yea i've heard it can void your warranty which is a bigger risk with the MT. i've also heard you need a different bypass module not just a neutral safety switch but i may be wrong.

if it were me and i really wanted the remote start on my MT i would bring it to an Infiniti dealership and let them do it. if it gets screwed up its their fault. from what i understand after market remote start systems can void your warranty - including viper equipment. it's not supposed to happen but it does

I am getting the Compustar installed on my 10 G37S 6MT. WE are going to use the FORTIN module. THis is the 1 mile range Compustar. I used to have Viper on my 300C and before that i always had compustar. I prefer Compustar over Viper any day becuase it supports manual transmissions.

I dont understand how its possible that an installer who is authorized can cause a warranty to be voided. Its not that hard to install a remote starter alarm if you know how. It was tricky on my 2007 G because of the PTS (push to start) and the IPDM, the stupid module didnt have the right firmware, but now that its been around a while, alot of the bypass modules are working perfectly.
