The car gives a warning beep and turns the ICC off automatically. Then it's your responsibility to brake to a stop.

It always seems like the car is braking for me... never been in a true "emergency" stop mode without me having my foot on the brake though. I read it's supposed to "pre-charge" the braking system but it definitely feels like the brakes are being squeezed a bit.

the car will apply brakes and slow down to about 30 mph, then it makes a noise and asks you to slow down. I think the new ones, at least the new FX have full range and will slow down all the way to 0. ANOTHER feature is when ICC is off, it still keeps the radar on, so when a car stops in front of you fast it charges the brake up so you get max brake power when you do apply. Plus the seatbelts electronically pull you back into the seat. Pretty fun stuff!

^accept the 1st time that seatbelt locks up nice and tight.
it was like having the seatbelt choke you out.
I almost tapped out, salesman didn't tell me about it.
found out when it engaged.

ICC just slows you down to maintain a preset distance. I think it applies braking power up to 0.25 G; however, it will not stop the vehicle. DCA (distance control assist) works in conjunction with ICC and will bring you to a stop.

Definitely will not stop you completely... I actually don't like the feature, I think it applies too much break, but its a decent feature to have especially if you are using cruise and you decide to take a nap
