Noise from Steering Wheel (loose spring?)
Noise from Steering Wheel (loose spring?)
I have a new g37 and every now and then when I hit a bump on the street or the freeway, there is a small spring noise that comes from behind my steering wheel. It's as if there is a loose spring or screw in the steering column.
I took it into the dealer and had them check it out TWICE and they said they fixed the problem by tightening the screws in the steering column but still I'm hearing the noise from time to time.
Has anyone else experienced this before? Thanks in advance everyone!

I had the same issue and the dealer fixed it for about 3 months... it came back eventually.
Now I just put my thumb on the horn area to dampen the sound LoL
I have the same issue with my driver side door also, where the connector for the seating memory buttons is loose.
I just took off the door panels and tuck in some fold-up post-it notes in between the gaps to stop the movement (thus vibration) and now the noise is gone. Not sure if this is the same case for the steering wheel but I will investigate it myself one day.
