G37S VLSD vs G37X Intelligent AWD

hey guys,

What is the difference between the Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD) and the AWD?

Which would give better traction/is better?

the limited slip has to do with the rear wheels only. all wheel drive is all the wheels. AWD will give you better traction bc everything that touches the road is receiving power from the car.

Smoking RR is right. The Limited Slip differential is for the RWD models and it limits the amount of slip between the back two wheels. Normally (without VLSD) if one wheel starts to slip, the other wheel loses power and all the power is transferred to the slipping wheel, making the situation worse. That's why people normally get stuck in the snow. It's because of the engineering of the gearing from the transmission to the wheels. Don't want to go into explaining it. The Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD) reduces that slip and the wheel that really needs to grip can still have some of the power. AWD expands that to both the front and rear wheels. All wheels can play. "From the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip."

The G37x (AWD) is the winner here as far as traction.
