What's this plastic piece from?
The clips on that trim piece are black and go into a metal bar that runs along the front seat, underneath the thigh extension. They can be broken if someone is grabbing on it from above thinking it's the thigh extender lever. He was yanking on it and I was driving so I couldn't tell him he was yanking on the wrong thing. I'm not really concerned about this trim piece as it still sits securely with the other clip and the right side trim piece that overlaps it.
I'm just trying to figure out where the hell the pictured item came from!

Good luck.

It looks like it's a reatining clip for the clock spring (spiral cable). It was probably dropped during instalation. Its there to lock the spiral cable in place so it's not over turned during shipping or instalation. I have installed many spiral cables and though I can't say I remember exactly what that throw away clip looks like Im pretty sure thats what it is. Just throw it away and get on with your life. Hope this helps you sleep at night now.
Looking at the seat schematics no part really matches that with the possible exception of the seat harnest which is part of all the wiring and would be a PITA to replace. Judging by the obvious wire guide visible I'd say it's purpose is to secure a wire. I'd employ cutomization using the superior qualities of www.duckbrand.com which will surely prove to be more durable as well and is available in a wire variety of colors

I appreciate all of the constructive replies. Why am I getting flak for this though?
I found a random piece in my car and was wondering if more experienced folks had any idea what it came from. Isn't having this hivemind for us to turn to the main advantage of going to a specific car forum?
Anyway, my lack of patience earlier might have had to do with getting 4 hours of sleep the past few days. I do appreciate the input thus far.
Idk whether this piece belongs to the car or not. But I will say that I once found a small black plastic piece that I think fell from under the steering wheel. I tried looking to see where it came from and couldn't find it. I gave up and just forgot about it because it only looked like a wire retainer. I knew it would probably not effect the functioning of my car so I just got rid of it.
If you are truely concerned about what piece it is you should just bring the car to the dealer and let them figure it out. Otherwise I say just forget about it and pretend that nothing ever happened.
