I just took my car in for this issue yesterday. Steering wheel shake and a bit of pulsation in the pedal when braking at high speed, 60-80mph. They are resurfacing the rotors and installing the brake vent thingys, all covered under warranty at 25k miles. Speaking of, I need to call and see if they are done yet... I miss my baby already.

Does anyone know if the TSB (ITB09-037b) mentioned in this thread covers the rear rotors also? The dealer is asking $460.00 to replace the rotors and brake pads... ridiculous! I'm not even at 25K miles yet.

Dealership shouldn't give you issues with lowered springs .Especially if they are Eibachs. Christ my dealership encourages H&R springs. I had same issue with springs & rims on car and they took care of it no questions asked. If they dont do the TSB go drive to another dealership.

Above 55MPH+, when you apply the brake to slow down, is it normal to feel a little tiny vibration in the steering wheel, or should it be nothing at all? Or does it also depend on the surface of the ground? Whether is perfect flat etc? Also, why do the rear brakes sound terrible when you back up, everybody is like looking at me jaja. Sounds likes your worst nightmare?

^You should not have vibration on a flat surface slowing down. Ensure your spacers are installed properly and it's hubcentric.

No! If your braking at 55 MPH+ and have vibration you need to see the TSB for this fix.

Non-hub centric spacers will give you vibration on the front at higher speeds, but it will be persistent, not just at braking.

The rear squeal on the brakes backing up is standard on stock brakes. No fix I know of until you go with new rotors/brakes. Just imagine your in a train station stopping a big train

I've also noticed a slight vibration from the steering wheel when driving 55mph+... but haven't noticed it happening while actually braking. If this is due to the TSB people are talking about here, how critical is it to get this fixed?

I do have eibach lowering springs and non-factory rims so I'm pretty sure the dealership would try to argument its not covered under the warranty. I still have less than 2k miles on my g though.

Vibrations that are noticeable at 55+ MPH (not during braking at those speeds) is not a TSB fix. Only for vibration at 55+ when braking does it apply.

If you have vibration at 55+ and not braking your wheels are not balanced correctly. Take your car back to where it was done and complain or find a new shop and ask them beforehand if the person working the machine has a lot of experience. Most of the time its some kid working it that doesn't have any. This is a common issue with most shops.

I thought that was common knowledge.
Yes, it is. It's not the rotors in this case if it's shaking on it's own while cruising. It's going to be a tire problem or a severe out-of-balance problem.

Just picked mine up from the dealership yesterday. I got four brand new rotors (no resurfacing) and four brake pads all covered by warranty. I have 15k miles on my car. The car brakes smoothly now and there is no squeal when in reverse. =)
