2010 G37X Coupe vs my 2007 G35X Sedan

I just traded it in and it seems like the low end power is less on the coupe than on the old Sedan?? The sedan (with less HP) seems to have been more responsive from a stop. I can feel the power if I lay into it a bit more and she goes great...but it just seems that the 7 speed auto is losing low end power?

It was great on the highway today with a little room to play around.

I actually used to complain to the dealer that the G35x was too jumpy with minimal throttle....

Is there a difference in wheel size between your coupe and your sedan?

Yeb, I traded in my '08 x sedan for a '09 x coupe 6 months ago and I felt the same way. The 7 speeds is just too smooth and it doesn't jump like the 5 speeds.

Thanks! I will rest easier knowing that this is normal....Weird that 18" tires, 7 speeds and 30 more HP wouldn't seem as "quick" as the older 17" 5 speed.

Don't forget that these VQ engines typically take a while to break-in. They get stronger with age...

Agreed. The gearing for the 7AT is kinda funny. I've always though the 3.5L matched with the 5AT seemed more torquy and aggressive.

It does get better over time, but the 7 speed trans sucks *****. The car doesn't drive like a sports car anymore.
