I can only describe it as a squeaking type of noise. I'm guessing its from the column rubbing against the inside of the dashboard but it happens a lot when i drive over a moderately bumpy road.

Can anything be done about this?

 

I had the same thing, take it too the dealer.If you try to wiggle the entire assembly it will shake. 4 screws hold everything in placed and your glass probably popped out. They will have to reset it all. They had a technician take a ride with me to listen. I took mine in about 2 weeks ago, they gave me a whole new assembly and even a loaner car for the night. No more noise after they installed the new one.
