Hi,

I searched forum for rattle issues and saw many posts on the exhaust but this rattle seems to becoming from the front drivers side. On smooth roads there is no sound but on highway even normal roads with small bumps there is a rattle sound (pretty sure not exhaust seems to be coming from front).

Doing a simple google search I found everything from lose gaskets to parking brake screws not being tight enough...anyone here have same prob? I will definitely be taking it in to dealer but would like to know as much as possible to tell them beforehand. 2008 G37

There was a thread on this a couple weeks ago, titled rattle coming from my dashboard. Look for that, there have also been known problems with the sunroof area.

 

I just took mine into the shop for the same thing. Turns out it was the windshield rubbing against something behind the dash. The dealership told me that I'd need to get the whole thing replaced and that it should be covered by warrranty.

 

I think I have the same thing... although it is from the passenger side. Kind of sounds like sunglasses laying on the seat rattle.

 

I've isolated the rattle to the entire gauge cluster?, ie the huge plastic piece that holds the gauges /steering wheel etc. When I put pressure on it while the rattling sound is happening the rattling stops. It sounds like the entire plastic piece is lose and hitting the back dashboard or something. Whats the proper term for it, gauge cluster or something else? At least I know what it is now and can explain to dealer.
