1 Year Later - A Review of the G37s Coupe 7AT
Hello. I went out today to test drive a g37 as I wanted to test out the paddle system. There is no Sport option with the AWD coupe, so I tested a sedan. Downshifts were great but upshifts are as slow as my 2006 M35. What I did like was DS. I would keep my car in DS ALL the time.
Motor seems a lot noisier, due to the higher revs and this might get tiresome but I really enjoyed it today.
And the convertible looks awesome in black!
More testing next week.

Well going from a 1998 Toyota Sienna Mini Van to the G coupe is like driving a rocket ship so I guess it's all what you are used to. If you want that jaw dropping speed feel for relatively little bucks (compaired to a Modded Vette), get a bike. I miss my Suzuki GS750 ....hold onto the handle bars acceleration. Keep the G and get a Hayabusa (talk about mods) for your freak on.
!We here at myg37 like to have fun and were all not serious sticklers, LIKE YOURSELF!
So ease down, chill out, loosen ur tie, take a
, have some fun!And ur post was outa left field kinda :P

Just here to learn and make a decision VERY soon on what vehicle to get.
The G37 is a luxury sport, it's not a race or track car.. it's a coupe that happens to be somewhat fast. The paddles are there because they make the steering wheel look nice and we all know it
It's an auto tranny not a dual clutch, cut her some slack
The G37 is about being more of a full package rather than just fast. Anyone who bought the car thinking otherwise, well as the famous Ashton Kutcher says..
You've been punkd

wait, my G37 can't compete with a modded C6
????, that's it time to sell it
I'm just messing around, nobody get mad... I know how you feel man, it is sort of disappointing when you know what a QUICK car really is. But I mean it is a very good looking coupe, fairly luxurious, and pretty peppy up top for a V6.
Before I got the G I was tossing around the idea of a used c6 z06. I drove one, and was in love... However I decided against it for a couple reasons
1) Only 2 seats, being that I am 19, I wanted the option of having more then 1 person.
2) Would have gotten fcuked on interest on a used z06, lucky if I could have gotten 7% for anything used, 0.9 on the G ftw
3)If I had an ls7 at the mercy of my right foot I would probably be in jail and a lucky police department would have an unmarked z06, would have been fun while it lasted though
4) And the insurance agent laughed at me when I told him I was considering a z06
All that said, I agree, the G is lacking in the power department, especially down low, but it is a v6 and that was to be expected. My solution, either TT or get a sportbike (I am personally waiting for the SC but considering the fact you are comparing it to a modded c6, i think TT would be the appropriate option), I have a 07 r6, which as long as I ride that once in a while I don't really mind the fact the G isn't as fast as some other things
Personally I don't get why infiniti doesn't put a stronger motor in the G, I am not saying to replace the 3.7, it is a great motor, and more then sufficient for most people in the market for this car... but why not make a g50 aslo, I got my 37 for 40,000 OTD, I would have gladly saved up 5-6 grand more for a g50...
