PSA keep your vdc on in light mist.

I am so used to turning off the VDC that i forgot it was off. I was coming out of a turn(thank god i didn't do more than just tap the throttle)

I did a nice 180 on a 2 lane narrow road.Only 1 lane each side of the street.

The G gods were looking over me because i thought i was gonna wipe out bad.

could not have been going more than 25-30 tops.

I usually hammer it coming out of the turn in ds if its late, the road is like completly deserted road.

You're lucky ... good thing it didnt get away with you .. RWDs aren't AWDs. Why not drive with the VDC on and turn it off when you feel like hard launching or swinging the back out! I've noticed a lot of people in this forum drive with the VDC off.

I always keep VDC on. after driving subaru's and fwd's car my whole life, RWD is no joke. Especially with summer tires, anything other than dry pavement makes this car spin

Must've been the TT you're rocking hahaha

Seriously though, driving with VDC on doesn't make one any less of a man. You pay for VDC, use it

Glad there was no oncoming traffic

+1 for VDC.

I had a customer's wife come and complain that I sold her husband a car that was unsafe for the road. Why? Because he spun out in heavy rain at an intersection. He was making a right turn from a stop.

First question I ask is "did he leave the stability control on?"

Her response: "what do you mean?"

"lets go for a drive."

Keep in mind, it is STILL pouring. We go to the first light outside the dealership. I tell her to make a right turn, and just floor it. Dealership insurance will take care of her. I hear the pedal bottom out, and the car just slowly makes the right turn.

She repeats it a few more times at various intersections. Same result.

I then point out the VDC button, and tell her to push it, and then floor it for a little bit in an empty lot. Tires spin.

"Oh, he must have hit that button... he likes to make the tires spin, even when I'm in the car...."

i only shut it off because not only does it cut the fuel but it applies the brakes really hard.I mean to get it to not only loose traction, but do a spin like that.the only other time even close to that was when i was driving it in the snow, with summer tires.I cought a patch of snow and it hit like a 90 degree angle.but i was able to anticipate that.this time it just spun out,i didn't even get to touch the steering wheel to turn into the skid.it was not even raining.i must have hit an oil spot, because i have never spun out like that going so slow.

I always leave VDC on. Mostly because I would be REALLY embarrassed to drive with it off all of the time, have an accident, and then have to admit it

For daily driving, there is really no reason to have it off IMO. If I'm on a deserted road and want to launch the car or something then, yeah, turn it off... otherwise you are only 1 small oil patch from potential disaster.

Glad you made it out without damage Risky Guy.

Even with the VDC "ON," I can get the tires to chirp for a split second before it kicks in when taking off hard. Listen for it... then again, I am running stock rubber still at 28K miles.

the VDC was tuned for the factory wheel setup. As long as your aftermarket setup has equivilent grip (as far as a ratio is concerned) as the factory setup, VDC is awesome.

It's when you step away from it that VDC just... doesn't seem to work well. It'll do stupid things like brake unexpectedly, cut power, etc.

Stretched tires and wrong tire sizes are the biggest culprit for this. VDC works via vehicle speed sensor (tranny mounted), and individual wheel speed sensors, so you can see why
