HELP! Bumper got bumped = \

Hi all,

First time posting, but I've been lurking for quite some time now...Need some advice as what is the best way to go about either repairing a front bumper of a 08 G37 Journey Coupe in OB or finding a replacement somewhere...

So after having a night out on the town on Saturday, I come back to my parking spot to find that someone left me a nice present. I can only assume that an SUV or some car that is higher than the G, backed into it while pulling in or out of the spot in front. I took it to a local shop and they quoted me at $300, for pulling out the dent and repainting the whole front bumper.

I attached a couple of photos, it doesn't really look that horrible right now, but the best way I can describe the damage is that it looks like someone folded a crease into the bumper and that the paint is a bit crinkled.

If anyone can advise whats the best route to go...should I get a new bumper since this is a leased car? Maybe try to find one off of the forums if anyone is selling an OEM bumper? Or is $300 a fair price for the work that needs to be done? Any help is needed, thanks alot in advance!

Price seems OK, if they are just going to pop the dent and repaint it maybe you can get them to go lower.

Hit and Run appears to be the new craze It takes me 20 minutes to find a safe parking spot and then there's vandals who key cars for fun.

yeah, i definitely agree. my car got keyed about 2 months after i got it...
NYC parking is definitely horrid. either you spend the mandatory 30 minutes to find a spot, or you spend $15 per half hour in the lots...<sigh> not a good week

I had my bumper tapped the NIGHT I picked up my G. I got the car around 4-5pm and when I picked it up the next morning from the parking garage I parked in that night, my license plate frame was cracked and sure enough my bumper was damaged underneath.
The sad part is I paid 45 dollars to park it over night in a garage to avoid parking on the street and getting 'tapped'...
Apparently this garage had a "not responsible for damage to front or rear bumpers" clause.

thats some ridiculous sh*t...i guess its just a sad fact of life that theres always going to be terrible and irresponsible drivers out there and sometimes things are just completely out of your control. gotta accept that.

If the damage is only the the driver side part of ther bumper, I dont understand them repaint the the WHOLE bumper. Maybe they meant repaint half the bumper but clearcoating the whole bumper; which is what they should do. Anyway I would say go for it. Color match wont be an issue since you have black
