I hate idiots who can't park

Woke up this morning to go to work to find this:

It's at my apartment complex garage. I went to the leasing office immediately and they looked up which apartment the space belongs to. I went back to the garage, left a nice note on their door saying "Hi, you hit my car and I'm contacting the police, please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx". I then went back to my apartment to call the local police department non-emergency number. 15 minutes later, a police came by and I showed them to the garage and the Civic is gone! I filed a report with them, showed them the pictures that I took. The cop said since their car is no longer here, they can't do much about it. They told me if that person doesn't contact me by tonight, I should call the police again. Then I called my insurance agent and told them everything along with the police report #. The insurance agent told me I shouldn't be so passive and wait a night and that I should be active and just knock on their door to ask for her insurance info and etc.

What's my next step now? Should I just wait for tonight and call the police back tomorrow? Or should I try to go to their apartment tonight?

Push the issue hard. Knock on doors. Call the police again. Hit and run.

Go knock on the door right away. Why wait?

There should be marks on his Civic if it's really him

Either ways, it doesn't look too serious, good luck.

The civic could have moved the car to go get its marks detailed out.

You need to check the law first. Don't go knocking on doors because the last thing you want is for your neighbor to accuse you of harrassment. You've already left a note and I'm sure they are going to be sensitive about it. I would mediate through the apartment complex mgmt.

Is it just me or marks on G looks like white in color.
That Civic looks darker color. Are you sure marks were made by that civic?

That's exactly why I haven't knocked on their doors already. I don't want this to turn around and bite me for harassment.

Update: the girl who drives the civic called me and she said she won't admit to it nor deny it. Here's a pic of her front bumper. I don't know why the mark is white.. but it's white on her car also. Their car is still not back in the garage yet.

Remember that the primer underneath the paint is light gray which in a photo could look white.

On a side a note. That bitch clearly hit your car. You could easily match up the areas. I would take all the evidence to the mgmt of the complex and the police.

wow i hope you go after this woman and teach her a lesson. i cant believe she would say something like that after what she did to your car. she is definitely lacking a moral compass.

+1

Just for her statement I would push this to the fullest extent possible. In retrospect, I would have waited and left the note after the Police came. I bet she got nervous and is trying to get the evidence on her car cleaned up.

I hate it when people park like that!. It is totally inconsiderate to people who may need to get into their car on the side against which they parked. It's just plain dumb.

i totally understand...i live in an apartment complex behind a hospital. The employee cant not park if their life were to depend on it....my girlfriend ride parks right by the corner...gives two feet and this Versa think it has room to get hella close to her ride and be fine where it is....and sorry about the scratches....

Why bother leaving a note? Should have just called the police and suprised her at her door. Leaving the note gave her time to hid the evidence.
