Damn, this is bothering me!

I had to take my 09 g37 in to the dealer today because my wife decided to scrape the front wheel along a curb..........They actually were able to repair it for $150.00 and you can't even tell.

They gave us an ex35 or something like that to drive as a rental, it was a small suv. As I was driving this thing i decided to floor it from several different speeds and I'll tell you what........that thing hauled ***. It felt faster than my 6 speed g37. I was kinda pissed off about it. I am hoping it just felt fast because it was higher up and had a different suspension.

What do you think? Is it just my imagination? I do know how to drive a manual quite well, so I know it wasn't my lack of experience. WTF

Dude -
Dont be upset that a loaner SUV is faster than your brand new luxury sport coupe

It probably just feel faster because you are not accustomed to the auto trans. And I must say, Infiniti makes a damn nice auto transmission which is actually faster in the G than the stick...

It's probably the responsiveness of that sport suspension

I had an auto G37 before my 6MT and the auto felt faster to me too. I don't think it was actually faster but when the transmission kicks down to the lowest gear possible for the speed you are travelling the car feels like it flies!! I find power in the 6MT seems to come on smoother and more linear.

I don't believe the EX is faster than the G but I do think the auto tranny does make the car feel quicker.

The auto tranny is nice on the Infinitis. It has a relatively high stall torque converter and very similar power to the wheels as the MT. As for the EX, it's quick for wha tit is but not as quick as the G.

Officially at least (& magazine times), the G37 is supposed to be faster, assuming you know what you're doing with a manual transmission.
