Any luck finding out the film type?

 

Nope all the good tinters know to flip down the rubber piece at the bottom and tint LOWER so that it makes up for the clearance that gets rubbed when the window lowers. most good tinters know to do this and tint enough nicer cars. Only thing is I took the car back to them after the tint settled so they could use their little tool to flip the rubber back up! U can prob do this at home if you have the right tool.

Automobile Window tint is usually cut so that it goes about 1/4 -1/2 inch below the seals edge that meats the glass. They push in the seal to slide the tint in place. You use soapy water so the tint doesn't stick so you can re-position it then you squeegee it out until it sticks.

So when the window auto winds down... it doesn't go past the tint films lip.
A good tint shop will heat dry this area so it doesn't slide.

I had no issues with my tints using the car about 4-6 times a day after it got tinted. Also good tint shops guarantee there work so no worries.

PS: Pro Tint shops have pre-cut tint! They can cut them on a plotter machine now to spec. So they don't have to in use a razor to size cut it on your car! Always select this tinting method since they could slice your seals with the razor they use. < - I use to tint cars many years ago and sh*t happens

Actually posted this in the Northeast forums but will repost here. I also contacted tint-king and for the Huper it is ~$400 and Geoshield it is $300 for my Sedan... all 4 doors and rear @35%. The do offer lower cost films like Llumar (LlumaStar ATR) and Suntek (Carbon) for ~$200, but I'm looking for nano-ceramic film and Geoshield looks like a good deal. I don't see anyone posting about it on the forums though. Formula 1 tint is ~100 miles for me to the nearest shop that uses it up in Maine.

 

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but how'd the tint installs turn out? I'm looking for a good tint installer in the area.
