So the auto trans reaches up and steers for you? It modulates the gas and brake for you too.. Awesome. G's must have that new KITT transmission..

With paddle shifters and modern auto's, this comes down many times to an argument over user interface. You prefer to depress a clutch and shift with a right hand while the modern auto driver likes to keep both hands on the steering wheel and move paddles back and forth.

 

^^ also alot take their daily driving routine into consideration. I for one would probably never opt for a manual since I sit in about an hour of traffic to and from work everyday.

First Manual Car..Love every second of it..When I drive autos now I get so bored. I love how the automatic owners get so defensive about this subject. Maybe since they get teased all the time by their friends for getting an auto cuz of "traffic" or the "modern paddle shifting technology"

 

lol not defensive if you look at the post most auto guys say it it up to your tastes while the 6mt guys say they are gods and real men and that they are perfect shifters and cn beat the &at even though all the evidence shows the auto is faster.. I know how to drive stick and so does the wife but we bought an auto. Both the at and mt ares sweet rides.

I do think the auto is faster..but not by much..maybe a few tenths quicker? For me, i like shifting through the gears and playing with the clutch so the loss of speed isn't a big deal. And I am NOT a perfect shifter by any means.

 

My wife drives the "G" more than I do. It's an auto, does this mean she's not a "real" woman?
