What a bunch of vulchers some of you are! The kid just had an accident and you're already trying to strip parts off his car. A little respect! Not to mention the fact that if he does wind up with another G, he will probably transfer all of the parts onto his new car.

Sorry about the accident and glad that everyone is ok. Good luck with insurance and the decisions you are about to face

I would hope for a total loss, to me a wecked car can never be the same.

consider yourself lucky because in MD if you hit anyone in the rear - its automatically your fault in most cases.

if your car has less than 10k miles on it or is less than a certain age they may be forced to give you a new one. you should check into the laws for your state

^^ Atleast they had the ***** to post it publicly. I bet you anything he got 10 PMs of people asking to buy his stuff.

I posted a thread when I wrecked my G35, the thread was all people asking if I was ok, but my INBOX was packed full of people wanting my crap.

sorry to hear about the accident/ The important thing is that no one go thurt. I hate that you will hve to mod all over again when you get your replacement but it could have been much worst.

Now you get the brand new car ownership experience all over again.

Its not about us being sensitive, it's about the OP being sensitive about it! If he posted saying he's happy he gets to have a new one etc then I'd agree with you.. but in this particular case it would be insensitive to ask for his parts that's all..

A fellow member and friend posted that he totalled his. After a while when he was all excited about getting a new one I asked if he'd sell his headlights learn from the experienced and highly qualified mods haha

from your description I would say they are going to total it.

Now there may be some experts on the board that can go over insurance. Blackjack (Brian) may be able to shed some light on it. His was totalled recently.

I would think her insurance will cut a check for the current value of the car. Now if you owe more than the value then you will probably have to sue her for it or allow your or her gap insurance to cover it.

Either way GAP insurance (when used) is considered earned income by the IRS and you have to pay taxes on it OR at least that is what happens in Texas.

Sorry to hear, but glad you're okay. Hope for the total, which from your description of the damage, seems likely.
