Can Anyone Identify This Part?

Ok, I found this (see pics below) plastic thing on the driver's side floor mat last week. I have no clue what it is, and was hoping someone here might have an idea.

Looks like it snaps onto something. Oh and on the lip there is a "4."

Any suggestions/thoughts would be great.

Thanks.

that looks like the clip thingy for your driver's side floormat where it attaches to the floor? is your floormat moving around on you?

The floormat isn't moving around, I checked down there (in a dark garage though so I have to check with a flashlight later) but it felt like there was a hole in the floormat with a plastic post through it keeping it in place. I thought the piece I have might be to that, but when I checked the other side's floor mat it was identical to the way the driver's side currently is. I guess maybe it came off on both sides and I only found then one?

Same thing happened to me and I was wondering the exact same thing, so maybe Graham is right it goes BENEATH the floormat? I was trying to put it above the floormat and that sucker is too small

It's a Fetzer valve.

Notice the lame Chevy Chase reference.

I think it actually goes on top of a bolt or screw. It like snaps into place. Check by the pedals in the corners. I had the same one in the passenger side.
