Two Week Thoughts

Well I've had the coupe for almost two weeks now... I love the car. A huge upgrade from my RSX-S. The ride is super smooth and comfy.

My only real gripe is that I miss the aggressive downshift in a 6MT. I feel like DS mode isn't really cutting it for when I'm crusing around 40-50MPH and mash on the pedal, it doesn't downshift to the most aggressive gear. Example is it'll climb from 3K towards redline instead of downshifting more closer to the powerband.

I also got walked on by a Z28 Camaro. I felt pretty dissapointed afterwards lol. Guess the only way to lighten up my spirits is to start bolting on some mods!!!

The car is "slow" - I got walked on by a WRX (non-STi) and a Volvo. This car is not about racing - if you want that, you bought the wrong car. I used to have a stage II STi, and I wanted to get out of that scene for something more refined & mature.

I had a 2006 WRX, and it will beat our car or be even - racers race - better mid range torque and take off than our car. It will definately win if it was stage two. Same power as us almost and 500 lbs. lighter.

Don't mash. Completely let go of the gas pedal, and then floor it.

why dont you manually shift? ds is better for the drag strip but i prefer manually shifting on the road.

The G is not about racing. It's not an off the line car. It's too heavy for that stuff..... It's a refined, higher rev car with all the technology at a price that can't be matched. It'd be perfect if Nissan did something with the rattles and creaks.... guess that's asking for too much....

If you want to stomp on Camaros and WRX's, get yourself a 370Z!!!

Think of it this way...be glad you barely lost in your G, you would've gotten pummeled in your RSX (well, assuming you had none to minimal mods)
