Just follow the manual for the first few miles (it's not that long of a time) and then you can have fun with your baby! If you were dating a classy woman, you would want to wine and dine her for a period of time, now wouldn't you?

ahh your choice....follow manual??? ive done some race engine building and dyno stuff...on motorcycles....the typical break in for bikes is close to autos.....played with different breakin ways and found the short way is best for power....my opinion.....seals breakin quick so do bearings and rings.....if anythings gonna break you want it to break while under warrenty...my opinion again.....500 miles a few heat cycles then drive it how you gonna drive it.....my G runs great motor sounds good no tsb's done but i should take it in for a check on it....pulls good havent top it out yet 155mph is all i went then ran out of room...traffic.......anyway it is totally up to you.....oh yeah and 14 months 36k runnin great on motul 300v oil

 

Na, treat her like the be'atch she is... slap her a$$, ride her hard and then tell her she's even better then her sister and you're ready for seconds.

Drove mine at constant speed for the 100 miles home from the dealer, haven't had a single issue with it.

 

If its a lease... Drive it like you stole it!

If its a fiance for first 1,200 miles keep it under 4,000 - aim for 3,000.

 

I did not lease and I did a hard break in after much research. My car runs great and I am at 28k miles. Never had a single engine problem. I also changed the oil at 500 miles to clear out all the particles in the oil.

My opinion is that you should break her in exactly how you plan on driving her. If you plan on driving like a granny than break her in nice and slow; if you plan on running her hard, then break her in hard so she breaks the engine in right to your driving style.

WTG!!! I hit 100 as soon as I hit the highway right after signing the papers. I even almost got pulled over by an undercover but so glad that I didnt. He ended up going after another car that was still speeding after I slowed down when I saw him.

Haha totally was. And yea when I left the dealer and got on the freeway it was hard to go any slower than a hundred, it doesn't feel like your going fast, but I am just blown away by this car. I have already done things within the first 24 hours that I never could have done with my G35

 

Don't let the 1st gen coupe guys hear you say that. You'll be shunned. Many refuse to believe the truth.

 

For break in on my new G37, I varied the rpms and kept it under 5kish rpms for the first 500 miles. I then changed the oil to Ester oil, put an Intake on it and started driving it hard. IMO, 500 miles is plenty of break in on a new vehicle. My salesman told me I didn't have to break it in, but 500 miles was PLENTY. He also told me that on 9 out of 10 test drives, the car being driven is redlined. So, if you car has 20 miles on it when you bought it, you can be assured it was redlined a time or two.
