Guys,

Just bought a new 09 G37 x coupe w/ prem, nav, illum kicks...I asked the dealer to install for me the VAIS sensor (shock/glass...) and they will check into this as they have no clue about that..

Can that be installed by the dealer or does it have to come from the factor?

As far as I know, there are no factory shock sensor options. It'd have to be aftermarket. Yes, the dealer could offer you something, but they'll probably devour your wallet for their services.

There's some thread floating around about this...search "shock sensor" or something like that.

 

Okay, the canadian Infiniti website doesn't even mention this feature. Does it come automatically with certain packages, or is it under another name? Is this option even available from the factory/dealer?

 

He is referring to the Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor (VAIS) and i believe it can be a dealer installed option because on infiniti.com it states that its an accessory, meaning that it can be purchased separately.
