Sucks Man! I feel your pain.

Find a freind in a body shop to state its totaled or pay em.

If my car gets into any accdient of that magnitude I have a freind in a body shop that will do just that. Not keeping a crashed car! Never Ever the same after!

Sorry guys, computer at work was messed and and no time at home to get back on.

I'll try to get pics when I pick the stuff out of my car. It is hard to show the damage in a picture since it is the whole car, not just a dent here and there.

i was seriously weightless in my car for a split second. The guy that was the witness told me he saw my taillights, then my roof, then my taillights again, then then under carriage. It was over before i knew it, but still pretty crazy. I'm okay. Slightly sore back and my GF who was with me braced herself against the ceiling with her arm and hurt her wrist.

My insurance company picked it up at the towing place yesterday. They called me with this, "upon initial inspection and description of the accident, it appears your vehicle is not repairable, do you agree with this assessment?" Hell yea i agree with that assessment.

Just waiting now for them to take it back to their shop and get it on a lift. i'm praying it's totaled. If not, it will never be the same ride. They told me to take the license plates with me from the towing place, so that seems like a decent indication that it is totaled. just glad the only thing i had done to it was tinted windows...

Thanks for the words guys (and gals?) and I'll try to get some pics up.

Once again, I can't stress to you the importance of a doctor's visit. Even if it's nothing more than bumps and bruises, you have to get it on record. If, heaven forbid, anything more serious were to materialize with your's or your girlfriend's health, it won't be covered as part of the accident unless you get it documented right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's totalled and that your bumps and bruises heal up!!

People like you are the reason we all pay higher premiums on auto insurance. I don't complain because my commision is higher but one day when you really do need a doctor I hope he is busy examining some moron who thinks he can bull**** his way to success. If you want money, earn it. The law is not meant to help the ignorant.

You're talking to someone who pays an almost 6-figure malpractice premium because of frivolous lawsuits. I'm not saying he needs to go suing the trucking company for money he doesn't deserve (aka: bull**** his way to success), I'm just saying that he shouldn't be responsible or his medical bills if it turns out he has whiplash or a slipped disc (two common side effects of car accidents that usually don't manifest until days or weeks after the accident). Who pays if that sore back of his doesn't get any better? Should that be his financial responsibility because someone else caused an accident?

According to the update, it sounds like him and his GF should see a doctor.

Good point. But I think the way you articulated yourself earlier was a bit over the top, so I don't blame DiamondG for what he said.

HAHA, My insurance is fighting against a guy right now that hit my husband at 5mph and caused a scratch on his SUV. The other guy was driving an old a** oldsmobile that was in serious need of a paint job. Even though the other guy hit us, he is now sueing my insurance company for pain and suffering because some bullsh** medical examiner falsified records and now says that he is 12% disabled. Now my insurance says they are going to try to settle with him for 50K just to keep it out of court. IT WAS HIS FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Give me a break!

That is not how Professional's who pay an "almost 6-figure Premium" make suggestions, you should know better especially if what you have said is true, which I doubt otherwise your comments would have been different. If he was seriously injured, then why would he need a doctor to 'say' he was all kinds of f'd up?

No, in all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay. But you really should have a doctor check you out just in case you have some minor injuries you haven't noticed yet (whiplash, slipped disc, etc). At least get the exam on file so the trucking company can't come back at you later.

I think Andrew was just kidding around with that first paragraph......especially given that he's in the medical field as well.

Thanks Danny. At least someone caught my sarcasm with the earlier posts. Sometimes it's amazingly difficult to convey humor and sarcasm on these boards; I might just give up and stay serious at all times.

I would just call your insurance provider and see what they have to say. Some insurance companies will be very understanding and help you out regardless of how long it's been. Others (mainly the discount providers) will definitely not be.
