Why did you opt to forgo the clear bra next time?

after 3.5 years and 68k miles, my clear bra was a bit beat up. if i didnt have it, i could just repaint my bumper every year or so. plus with the new healing clear coat, not so sure i need it.

Or you could just put a new clear bra, right? That's cheaper than a re-paint I would assume. Plus, good material clear bras should allow UV rays to go through so the paint sun-fading should be even throughout the front of the car.

What's the downside?

Also, I wouldn't put too much faith in the Scratch Shield paint, it helps against light scratches. But, do you really think it's going to do much against rock chips and sand damage? Let's be real about this.

You assumed incorrectly. Clear bra is not cheaper than paint, which is one of the reasons why some don't get clear bra, because the can just repaint.

correct. you assume wrong obsidian. i got mine installed for about $650. you can repaint for a bit less than that. not to mention you also have to pay for uninstall unless you do it yourself. then you have to hope none of the rocks chipped your paint THROUGH the clear bra. just seems like an extra headache i dont need.

not saying the new paint will replace a clear bra, but it should help with the light stuff. if a rock wants to chip your paint, its going to do it lol.

Don't make up stuff. If you're making Quebecoise your excuse, shouldn't it be N.O. instead of O.B.? Infiniti Quebec in French calls it Noir Obsidienne

Well I didnt get a clear bra because I wanted to be able to polish the actual paint of my car, no plastic. And when it gets older, you will see the outline of it as the dirt builds and I dont want that.

I wish I could get those off in front of the rear tires. But I am afraid I will damage the paint.
