ive had my car for a month now. ive noticed that the transmission is really jerking in 1st and 2nd gear. ive test driven at least 20 different cars in the past 6 months, and the g is one of the most violent shifting vehicles, im talking about shifting around 2000-4000 rpms and it jerks hard. is it just me or has the g always been like this.
G clutch feel different, you have to ease off on shifting to make it smooth. when you are trying to adapt to the transmission it will jerk if u release ur clutch too fast. but the G37's have imporved alot from the 1st gen G Coupes clutches
It's the car in the sense that it might be different than others you've driven, so you have to adjust to it to make it smooth.

I too have noticed that it's harder to produce a really smooth 1-2 shift in this car without slipping the clutch a little bit morethan most cars i've drivern previoulsy. I've driven a lot of different cars.
I don't think it's anything you're doing wrong or anything wrong with your car, it's just the way this tranmission and clutch are.

All the other gears are smooth as silk.

I will definitely say that I have gotten a LOT better at it in recent months, so I guess it just takes some practice. Most people who drive my car try to shift too quickly and don't let the revs drop enough for 2nd gear; try holding the clutch in a second longer and letting the revs drop to 2K or 2.5K before you pop the clutch. Just a suggestion.
Confuscious says "The driver that makes the car jerk - jerks more than one thing, therefore does not have a wife."

In all reality, the G has a smooth shifting compared to Americanos. Drive a Shelby GT500. Shifting is terrible.
