question for BO owners

I dont know if this is normal or not, but I've notice that in early morning direct sunlight that not all pieces of my car don't seem the same "blackness". For instance, the body panels seem one color shade of black, the gas cap and the piece that surrounds the upper part of the windows seem another "black", but the whole car looks the same black at say 3 pm sunlight. Is this normal?

could we actually see those shades of black if you took pictures? you bought your car new? never been in an accident where they had to get and repaint a bumper? dunno seems like it's just you... never noticed a color difference in the car

I've noticed this as well on other BO's as well as other people have also, especially after the car has been washed and waxed. IT might be due to all the different material of the different body parts.

Never noticed and I have stared at it a lot from every angel especially while buffing out poor dealer detailing job from original delivery.

Well I bought the car used with 1800 miles on it, but I don't think its been in a wreck, there are no tell tell signs, and Carfax didn't list anything. It only happens in certain lighting conditions, and plus it happens on bits of the car on the left and right. So if it was in wreck it seems it would have been a pretty severe wreck for both sides to have damage.

I never noticed that, that's not normal to have different shades like that for the age of the car

take some pics for us

My Bo is the same black on all pieces whether metal or plastic. The consistency is excellent. I have had cars where you could see the difference from the body and the bumper and it drove me crazy. Not sure why yours is not consistent across all parts.

It's hard to take pics of it because I'm not sure when I'm going to see. I mean in 99% of all the different lights it's fine, but every now and then its different, but I'll try to take a pick next time.

one thing thats pisses me off was that today after i washed my car, i noticed you can see the color difference from where the dealerships white sticky stuff was on it...idk what its called. When you buy a new car and it has all that white stuff on it.
I can see where it was layed out on the door. I've been trying to buff it out.

FYI- Just 'cause a Carfax doesn't show any accidents/damage doesn't mean that damage did not occur or repainting has taken place....

thats true CHIA, sometimes carfax take awhile to have the info and the car is fairly new so it might not show up
