What's this noise?

Here is the stinkin' noise......

Notice after i turn the car off, and turn it back on....THE NOISE IS GONE!!!!

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8fJWDs6yNiI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8fJWDs6yNiI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Hopefully you guys can give me a clue as to what it is. If not, i have the proof to supply to the dealer when i go for my oil change. Does the sound suggest that i should take it in now instead of waiting a couple of weeks before i reach the 15,000???

This is a seperate issue so I'll move this post into its own thread. This doesn't sound like the TSB either. You're saying it happens every few times you start your car? Could be misfiring, no SES light?

Finangle69 had this noise come and go too... but it was very rarely and after a hard run rather than at the start.

Let us know what it is if you take it to the dealer.

damn bro, that sounds like a rod knock, but then it goes away....which isn't possible. I wonder if it's detonating because of a timing issue that resets itself when you restart the car. Either way, I'd get it in before it takes a dump on ya and you're stranded.

The noise comes in after i have used the A/C or Heater. This morning there was no noise. Yesterday, when i took the video, I had the heater on, on my way to work. When i got to park it that i when i heard the noise, and decided to record it. Then as you see on the video, if i turn the car off, and restart it, the noise is gone.....

Weird.

No SES light, no lights on at all.

that really sounds horrible !!!!!
you have a video of it as proof for the dealer to see, my dealer said if a sound comes just call right away and let them hear the sound through the phone or take a phone video. Once they hear something, they'll try to see what it is. If they don't hear anything, they don't do anything.

I blame Shumby for stuffy burrito's in your intake...lol

I think I have heard a very very subtle form of this when me and my g/f parked in a parking lot and we were idling. I was running the latest Entourage and Heroes episodes from my iPod to the screen via Composite cable in the armrest. After using heat and/or A/C I could hear a slight slight chugging noise from the motor, less loud than this one. I was rotating between 15 minutes of car on, to 15 minutes of car off so as to not idle too long OR run the battery out from not having the motor on. When the slight chugging noise came, the restart of the car would make it go away.
