^i think this is an exaggerated version of the ticking vvel. i cant see it being anything else, especially if it can be reset by turning the car off.

I was idling and checking this out in my 2000 Lexus GS400 and when the A/C is on the motor makes a light chugging/knocking noise and goes away when you turn it off - it may be normal. However it's subtle as in my G as well and not seemingly as loud as the OP's YouTube video.

is your rpm higher than normal when the noise is presented? my car has the same problem. noise goes away when you shut off your engine and turn back on. i'm gonna try to replicate the noise and take a drive to the dealer this week.

The sound almost reminds me of a starter that gets the bendix stuck, engaged to the flywheel. Its a commom problem with Toyotas but only with 100k miles or more on the clock.

The noise while i have the A/C on is fine/normal. It remains the same as it was when i first bought the G. The problem/noise begins after i turn the A/C off. The noise heard in the video continues.

The RPM is not higher than normal when the noise is present. There is no difference in the driving when the noise is on.

When the noise comes on I am going and take it to the dealer, even if its before my Monday appointment. I just want a service person to take note of it.
