I am wondering should I just get the S and get all season tires?
I am in Philly area and I went through same thing. My 82 y.o. Dad finally pushed me by saying that he had RWD until FWD came out in late 60s early 70s. So through horrible winters near Buffalo for over 30 years of his driving life he had a rwd car because that is all there was.
So I bought the rwd g37s and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. My personal bias is that the x version on the sedan felt heavier etc. but maybe that is me but there is really nothing like the no compromise driving of rwd.

So Philly can get some nasty storms so what then. First, you can always watch the weather and rent a car or you can buy an old Toyota or Honda for those days.

Second you can put on the best snow tires you got and probably get through most things.

The S has POSI and traction control which some of the old school vehicles never had. With good snows on this car you can drive anywhere. 4WD will help on steep grades, but for most peeps the 2WD is more than adequate.
