If your dad is getting you a car I do not really understand where the prices comes into play. And that would be something you should discuss with him.

As for the MT on the 37 it is very easy. Being a manual driver since I was 16 I only had a minor change from driving 5speed transmission pathfinders.

Manual transmission is easy to learn, however you might not want to drive your friends around for a week or two. Shouldnt take more then a few days to learn depending how much you drive.

I found the MT to be trickier on the G37 than the other cars I practiced on...that includes a stage 3 race clutch that I was messing around with the day before.

yea...the g37 clutch was a lil tricky, but i got used to it pretty quick. my previous car was a e46 m3 and that clutch was tight as hell.

I would go from here to say it must all depend on the driver, into second may be the only time i've pushed it to hard even when "luxury" driving

These threads crack me up, but I guess we aren't born with the skill. I learned how to drive manual on a Honda CR125 Dirt bike. When I actually went to a car I instantly drove it without stall. If you have the option of learing on a dirt bike it makes for an easy transition.
