As folks are looking on this forum for advice on the purchase of a new G37 I thought it would be handy to compile a list of all the negatives to help guide their decision making process, after all the pro's are obvious, these aren't. Here's my list..feel free to add.

1. Access to door storage is difficult while seated.
2. 08 Paint scratches easily
3. Stock Mufflers may rattle
4. 08 Door handles scratched easily
5. Can't program fully extended seat or steering wheel position
6. Car is very heavy and will never be fast off the line.
7. Wheel paint easily ruined with non-all wheel cleaner.
8. Major blind spot on driver side
9. Some Nav and music box features disabled while moving.
10. Seats wear quickly and can stretch leaving ripples.
11. Seats uncomfortable after 1 hour - firm sides.
12. Very small trunk space
13. 6MT gear shift vibrates at idle, noisy transmission
14. Paddle shifters are slow due to rev matching
15. 5AT downshifts in DS to 2nd can be rough
16. Back seat is for brief case or child with no legs.
17. Door arm rests are too low and design cramps larger drivers.
18. Head space is limited for tall drivers.
19. Uncomfortable seat belt, digs into your neck.
20. Electric seats move very slowly making full access to the back seat tiresome.
21. Driver storage in arm rest is very small
22. Can't adjust seats while seated and door is closed.
23. You chances of getting a speeding ticket will increase, expecially if you modify the exhaust and/or Intake. Engine Sound addiction.
24. Large fender gap on front wheel, really mandates a drop. Not everyone will want to drop the car.

 

19.Ipod interface could be designed better (faster scrolling)
20.Cupholders need to be larger
21.More storage space next to driver, i can barely fit my ipod and a pen (needs to be deeper)
22.Mirrors need to fold in with a button
23.Some fog lights on the bottom of the bumper not in the headlights

 

omg mirrors dont fold in auto???!??!! -100!!!!
lol did japan not think about putting 10 cupholders in the car before bringing it to USA, 10 kingsize cupholders... for the

 

so much technology that i still cant use half of it.
.
ie. setup my key fob to automatically tilt seat and adjust mirrors when i get in.

 

Just to clarify this isn't a wish list thread but negative facts about existing features. There's another thread for wishes.

Disagree with 1, 6, 8, 16.

1. I average 19mpg mixed city/highway and I drive like I stole it.

6. low 5s 0-60 is "fast", just not a rocket. Luxury GT cars aren't trying to be rockets.

8. No blind spots with properly adjusted side mirrors and reasonable seating position.

16. Anyone 5'6 and under fits fine in the backset unless the front seats are set to gangsta setting. Lots of four door sedans leave no leg room when the front seats are in gangsta-mode, so really no surprise there.

Otherwise, that's a great list. I can't stress the b.s. factor of the moving-vehicle lockouts enough (#9)

 

I hate the seatbelts, they cut your neck when you wear it, and if you dont wear it they rattle against the side pillars.

 

Of all the Infiniti's the G doesnt get cooled seats! The new FX has it, the M, im not sure about the EX...

I am with everyone on the nav lockouts, if you can use Garmin and other aftermarket GPS systems, then why limit it on this car?

 

ok calm down, my friends sequoia has auto mirrors, why cant an infiniti? and im not asking for 10 damn cup holders, just bigger diameter ones because not every drink fits in there

 

i stopped at wendys the otherday and got a meal, horrible idea, horrible idea eating that food for 1 and for 2 why even put that junk in your car

so after i went on a 2 mile run I made sure a buddy of mine hit me in the gut real hard to make sure i never go through any sort of fast food again

the cup holders in the doors are plenty for a bottle of water / tea / sobe / whateveryouwannadrinkdamnit

 

Weird rattles and windows that roll down by themselves and get stuck .

 

Nav lockouts are a joke. WTF Infiniti!

 

The only negative thing I think about are slow seats when you have to put someone/something in the back. It takes FOREVER for the seat to slide forward.
