Loaner Car Question

Quick question - My car was recently broken into and I finally got an estimate from my insurance company to get the car repaired. I contacted the Infiniti dealership I leased my car through to schedule the repair. I asked about a loaner and was told by the service person that I am not entitled to a loaner and I would need to call my insurance company. Has anyone had any experience with this before? I've called my sales guy because when he sold me the car he kept mentioning that they would always provide you with a loaner for any service or work your having done. I'm still waiting for him to call me back, but just want to get some input before I talk to him so I know what to say and expect.

Thanks

Loaners are usually only for mechanical issues with your car. I don't think vandalism counts as reason for a loaner. Actually, if it was vandalism and you have a police report, you might be entitled for a rental through ur insurance company. I have progressive and when my car was hit while parked on the road, i got a rental (free) through my insurance while it was being repaired.

Thanks for the quick response. I may as well run it by my dealer as he's supposed to call me back. But if your saying it normally isnt covered I won't completely push the subject and will talk to my insurance company about the rental.
Its just gonna mean that if Infiniti starts dragging its feet on the repair Im going to have to push them to get me my car back in a timely fashion. After all I am paying close to $500 a month to be driving an infiniti, not a ford focus from enterprise rent a car.

this is an insurance claim and your dealer is not responsible for giving you a loaner. it would be the same as if you took your car to a body shop other than Infiniti. they wouldn't pay for your rental car.

Loaners are for warranty or service work only... Not repairs like body work.

You would have had to have the extra rental car reimbursement coverage added to your policy for the insurance to pay the rental car costs while your vehicle is in the shop. And it will be at a limited amount depending on the level you selected. I issue all policies for customers that want rental car reimbursement at $40 per day, just to make sure the customers can drive something decent.
