This is what it said in the wiki entry...

If you purchased a used car there are two situations in which you may be qualified for cash or other lemon law benefits:

Situation #1: You may be entitled to compensation for breach of warranty if you had one of the following Warranties:

* Any warranty left from the manufacturer when you purchased your vehicle (for example, almost all vehicles sold with fewer than 36,000 miles will have this. But if the warranty is longer, you may have even more time).
* Your vehicle was "Certified" by the Manufacturer (in which case it came with a short Manufacturer's Warranty, typically 1 year).
* You purchased an Extended Warranty backed by the Manufacturer (typically 5 years or longer).

Normally, these types of cases fall outside the scope of the state lemon law but are covered under special federal lemon laws.

Situation #2: When No Manufacturer's Warranty Exists If you do not have a manufacturer's warranty of any kind you may be entitled to compensation for violations of consumer protection laws that fall outside of the lemon laws. The following is a list of some of the problems and/or issues which may be present in your vehicle. Your vehicle may be/have a:

* Laundered Lemon (or prior history of mechanical problems known to the seller);
* Previously salvaged or wrecked;
* Fraudulently rolled back odometer;
* Rental car, police car, taxi, etc.;
* Stolen, stripped and rebuilt; and/or
* Involved in a flood.

Lemon Laws vary from state to state, so accurate information on the scope and restrictions of Lemon Laws in a particular state should be obtained from an attorney practicing in that state.

This is a shame to see you say this... Funny thing is bro... In December of 07 I bought a FULLY LOADED G37S with everything possible except a spoiler for 41,800.

You shouldve done research before jumping into something you dont have a clue about... The dealer really took advantage of you...

Get outta this car asap and spend 10hrs reading on this forum...

Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full!!!!

NEVER EVER pay MSRP. They were trying to bait you and you bit hard!

No way you pay full price on a car that is getting ready to be replaced in two months with the newer yr model. They'll be forced to move their '08's very soon. This late in the game, you should have either waited for the '09 or got a GREAT deal on an '08, especially a used '08 with 13k miles.

If you can cancel the loan, depending on your state's laws, try that. Or, tell the manager that you want to move up to a new car BUT negotiate. You have to run the show and focus on the final sale price, not the payment/month price. As pissed as you are, being a D**k to them will not help things. If they do allow you to cancel and buy a new one, be professional and have patience. I know it's tough cause I'd be pissed as well.

Like Max said, your homework is to spend 10+hrs reading this forum.

If you do get out of it and they start giving you prices on a new one, post them in this forum and we can help you on whether or not it's a good deal........

i did the carfax report. it says that the previous owner did an 8 month lease, and the title is clear. they claim that they have pulled a new car off the lot and are pulling parts left and right to try and figure out whats going on with mine. it's too late now for me to try and get them to buy the car back.

I fell in love with the car and it was in great shape so I decided it was what I wanted. I drove it two more times before I gave the final go ahead that I was going to purchase the car. I came in to the dealership this last thursday and my sales guy told me he was going to align the car and get it ready, and that it would be ready on the coming monday. I gave them my credit card for a deposit and everything was set. I told him when I came in monday that the few minor scratches and curb rash should be fixed and the car should be ready to go. He agreed and said all I would need to do is come in and sign the paperwork.

I came back to pick up the car on monday, signed all the papers and they brought the car around. I was waiting to get in it when I noticed that the exhaust had a new rattle in it that I had never heard. It was blatantly obvious and I pointed it out to the sales guy. He took it back to service and they said that there was some kind of recall and it was a known issue. they were going to order a new muffler and have it in for the following monday, and that i would have to wait a week with this rattle. already i was pissed off.

Then I get in the car and notice that the 4WAS (4 wheel active steer) light is on, the VDC Off light is on solid and I cant get it to turn off (yes i tried hitting the button) and the Slip light are on solid. I cycled the ignition a few times to see if it was a fluke. I showed the salesman, and he again took it in to the service department. this time he came back and told me that the wheels had to calibrate with the 4 wheel steering sensor and i had to drive it for 45 or 50 miles and everything would be fine. So i took delivery of the car. as I'm leaving the parking lot, I notice the steering wheel is cocked to the left about 15 degrees and the car is holding straight on the road. I call the sales guy, and he gets frustrated and says to bring the car back the next day and they would diagnose the problem.

Come back the next day, wait 5 hours for them to tell me that now they have now figured out it is the ABS Actuator. They tell me they had to order the part and that it would be fixed on monday along with the muffler.

Next day (now the second day of owning the car) my sales guy calls and tells me to bring it in on thursday and that they will have everything taken care of ahead of schedule.

I take the car in this morning, they start working on it and inform me that they have no idea what is going on with the car, and that they had to call Infiniti Technical support and open some kind of technical case on the car. They say it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to fix. and in the mean time im driving a G35...

im ****ing pissed. I maintained my composure with the dealerhship, but i just payed 40,000 dollars for a car that is a lemon. I havent even had it 4 days and its spent 3 of the 4 days at the infiniti dealer.

does anybody know what could possibly be going on with this? anyone ever heard of anything like this? the infiniti dealer isnt giving me nearly enough information, and they wont let me talk to the mechanic to figure out exactly whats going on. everytime i go in there they seem to put me in contact with someone who knows even less of whats going on that the last guy. I just want my car back and working.

it was perfect when i test drove it, and now all of a sudden these things are popping up.

if the tcs lght & 4was light are on at the same time, I know what the problem is.

the lights 4was light & tcs light go on as a saftey.

it does this to prevent damage to the acuactors on the 4was.

your alignment in way off in a major way.

Once it is re-alignened you are good to go.

if you have service issues call infiniti they will take care of you.

my suggestion find another dealer(they all get paid from infiniti, so screw the dealer who sold you the car) especially if they dont know what they are doing.

Dude you got screwed, get a lawyer. My car is fully loaded with ALL options PLUS RWAS and I took it brand new in Sept 07 with about 35 miles on it for 42k out the door...the sticker was 45,500. Are you saying you paid 40k for the same car with 13k miles? You could have had that car for about 35k, 36 tops. Never compare to MSRP, compare to invoice, especially on a model year that's coming to a close! You should ALWAYS, ALWAYS negotiate as close as possible to 10-11% off MSRP on a car whose model year is closing (I mean unless we're talkin rare exotics or exceptions)! Even on a new car you can aim for 8-9% off.

Anyways get a lawyer and file lemon law. You will be straight. I would also call Infiniti Consumer Affairs first and get them involved and on their feet, make sure they know you mean business and that you are on the verge of getting a lawyer to duke it out with your dealership for a fraudulent case. Infiniti Consumer Affairs usually tried doing whatever they can to treat you well and keep embarassing things like this on the hush-hush. I would not be surprised if they intervened on this and helped you settle out of the eyes of the law and off the record. Maybe you can negotiate a new car or another used model with less miles and tip-top condition.

Do not keep this car it sounds hellish. I would check the carfax - they way it's behaving does not sound like natural defects - I really think it may have been borderline totalled in the front end perhaps. GOOD LUCK. I wouls a

i called another dealer to see if they knew anything, and he said it sounds like when they went in to do the alignment before i picked it up, that they bent a part.

What pisses me off is how everything was perfect the three times i test drove the car. then i came back to pick it up, and now it has all these issues after they did an alignment.

WOW. you should have checked the BUy/lease sub-fourm on here before you bought. Would have saved you some money. Seem like the dealer saw you coming. I would not stand for this if you cannot afford a lawer and they take there time to fix it or give you the run arround, go to the dealer everyday and make sure you tell every customer they have in there at the time what they are doing to you. they won't like that at all

CALL Infiniti Customer Affairs. They usually do a good job. As Detroit said, they like things to be on the hush-hush side. They absolutely don't want the bad PR. That's their job, to keep you happy and bring it down to at least a happy medium.

Even if the dealership is trying, calling Customer Affairs to get them in on it will open more eyes and get the ball rolling more in your favor.

AND FOR GODS SAKE, NEXT TIME COME TO THE FORUMS AND POST YOUR DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!! We could have easily saved you at the bare minimum, $5-7K!!!!!!!!!!

It's under warranty. Let them fix it. Less than a year ago I paid MSRP to be the first one on the block with the new G. I still love it and broke it in right, but some of these guys are coming down hard on you for "overpaying" and I think you did just fine. Obviously, they messed up on the alignment and probably shouldn't have touched it. If you run to a lawyer there is only one person who will make out on this deal.
I don't think your world is crashing down around you just yet. You still made the right decision on which model car to buy
Best of luck to you and a quick resolution.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It sounds like 2 simple repairs- the 4WAS actuators and the TSB for the exhaust rattle. After they fix that up, all should be good. If you think that is frustrating, since the dealership lost my Intelligent Key and re-programmed a new one for me, I have had 5 of them, because none of them will seem to stay "bonded" to my car. Very frustrating to go out to the car and have a no start issue.

Once they get it fixed, you will be in great shape.

I don't think you did too bad on price, you bought a fully loaded car. I paid very close to sticker for mine too, because nobody in a 4 state radius had one exactly like I wanted. My G has been great and I am looking forward to many more happy miles.

I have to say that is a unbelievable price to pay fully loaded. The car with all options is around 45k MSRP and the new models are getting ready to come out and expensive cars are not selling real well right now.

You should have been able to get a loaded one for around 41k and got financing/lease with GREAT terms.

I am not trying to add insult to injury but car dealers are very good at avoid Lemon Laws and very few people actually get their car purchased back under that law.

You might just want to talk to the Dealership and see if you can get it purchased back and get a new one.
