Thanks for the feedback. I guess I should just call and ask (remain anonymous).
I think it is perfectly reasonable to fill the tank up back to around where they gave it to me at. The paper work they gave me just shows "gas in the car" and put a line at about the 1/2 way point.

I think it could go either way here...

I do not think they can deny me a loaner because I didn't fill it up to exactly what they gave it to me at either; however, they may give me one on E next time?

Again, I'll call to clarify but wanted to know other's experiences.

In my opinion, don't bring it up. You should not abuse your priveleges of receiveing a loaner, don't bring a car back that was Full on E. If you pick up a car just for the day and only drive about 20-30 miles, it's not that big of a problem if you bring it back with a litle less gas. No they won't chase you down after you leave, send you a bill, or likely deny you use next time around but you might end up having to put up a few bucks if they see that you're habitually returning the loaners with significantly less fuel.

"return vehicle with fuel indicated above"

this box was not checked. so i'm not going to say anything

I actually do go to Pepe, Vinny...they haven't given me a problem yet, but i've been a repeat service customer there and one of the old service advisors owed me a few favors, so i guess when he left he put a in a good word for me. if not, i know the gm up at mb of greenwich, which also has an infiniti dealer.....i'll shoot my phone #'s over a PM...

Oh man, that's a WHOLE other thread. The girlfriend and I had an ethical debate on this yesterday!
Actually more on brand not octane (she was anti race track)

PS. They're keeping the car till Thursday so it may be pretty bone dry when returned.

87 is fine for most Infinitis. 91 is required for anything with VVEL aka G37.

Just had a loaner car last weekend. Had to return it with 1/4 tank. Drove the car on a pretty far trip so although I had to pay for the gas...at least I didn't put those miles on my G.

I just don't understand...why don't dealers just fill up the damn car....so....if someone uses half a tank, 1/4 tank, 3/4 tank....then they can just fill it up to FULL without guessing! I guess maybe they do it at 1/4 so you're bound to fill more gas than you have to!

I made a trip to the dealer last week and got a loaner and I was informed that the dealer budget for fuel on loaners was excessive, so they started asking customers to pay for their own fuel, which makes sense to me.

If I was driving my own car, I'd be using gas on my dollar, so how was that any different? I put in 2 gallons and I drove maybe 40 miles total in the loaner. I got it at 1/4 tank and returned it with 1/4 tank.

I'm surprised that this surprises people given the cost of fuel these days. It's around $4.25/gallon at the lowest cost in this area.

I've never had a problem with the service there, but I have heard bad things in the past. I guess I know the right people over there. Go see Danya Huppert, she's a pretty good service advisor.
