MY G37S is destroyed!!!!!!

OK, so first my car get's broken into....

https://www.myg37.com/forums/showthr...55#post2343555

after just getting it back from the shop for about 2 weeks, some drunk f u c k plows into my PARKED CAR forcing my car to plow into my wife's car and her car into our neighbor's car....

Fortunately no one was hurt, including the drunk driver. My wife and I were watching tv when we heard what sounded like an explosion in front of the apt. Right then and there we knew and when looked out the window, sure enough, there was an Xterra attached to where my trunk USED to be. I'm pretty sure our cars' are totaled. if anyone can host them I can email pix.

Anyway, I'm obviously suing this a55hole's insurance co. but I'm not just typing this post to vent. I would really appreciate advice from any of you guys who have gone through fighting w/ insurance co's and dealing w/ something like this... I've got about billion things racing through my head and can't concentrate on any one thing... it's taking me about 30mins just to type this.

We've already reported everything to out ins co's, and we pick up the police report on Monday, what's next from here?

**What's crazy is, I was supposed to meet w/ some people and was about to leave, I was just about out the door when I decided to finish something I was watching on tv, then about a min later BOOM. I coulda been in the car had I not decided to finish the show.... I guess I should be happy about that, but, I'm soo f'n pissed that both our cars are prolly totalled.... And, yes, the guy got arrested but to me, he got off easy.

wow thanks god you guys were not in or around your cars...

use photobucket.com to host the pics....

there shouldnt really be any fighting with your insurance company. was the drunk driver written tickets or locked up? Did they give him a breathalyzer or take blood at a hospital? i would not only sue the sh** out of the driver and his insurance company but i would press charges as well.

Dang man sorry hear this... If the guy was insured then you shouldn't have to fight with any insurance crap because your insurance is supposed to do that for you... If you want to sue, it should be an easy claim (I would think) Just be sure to stay on your Insurance co's a$$ about your file... My girlfriend is a Total Loss Appraiser at Mercury Insurance and she works with some lazy fricken people. But yeah, just be sure to get what YOU want for the re-imbursement if they do total it. Don't let them low-ball you on what your car is worth... It's a good thing you finished watching T.V. though!!

You got to obtain a claim number from his insurance company and go get a rental car with that... if you know a good lawyer get one, they'll fight for you but you gotta pay them a %. Make sure you get a police report aslo, should be available in a couple of days. HOPEFULLY, the car is a total loss and the insurance company will just pay you better than Kelly blue book for it so you can just use that money and get new cars... when it's getting appraised just complain about it not being safe (because it isn't anymore) complain about engine sounds and loose screws! But you're looking at probably a month until everything is completed with your new car... sorry to hear your story... that really f'in sucks...

Unbelievable. I guess that car was doomed from the begining. Sorry about your luck.

That sucks!!!! Drunk fracking idiot!!!

Did you get the gap insurance from the dealership?

You're car is probably totaled. However, your insurance company will give you what the car is worth at the time of the crash. If you have gap insurance, that would cover the rest of the loan remaining on your car, assuming you have a loan on the car and didn't pay cash for it. This of course varies from state-state.

Sue his fracking ***!!! You'll have to be patient though, these lawsuits take time.

Again, this totally blows!!! I feel for you bro!

Yeah.. That's likely totalled. At least you were inside the house and not inside the car.
