Paddles or Manual?
I "considered" the AT, too. But like I said earlier, I have no regrets with the MT. My GF can't even drive MT yet, and it was something I was taking into consideration when deciding on transmissions. Although, shortly thereafter I realized I should not use her as a factor in my decision because I don't want to live vicariously through her.
If later down the line I decided I really should have gotten the MT I would inadvertently grow to resent her for it and it may even come out in an argument ("the only reason I got this stupid car is so you could drive it!") She DOES NOT deserve that. For emergency purposes she's learning to drive MT (but not in my G, lol), but it IS my car, and she has hers.
Going back to your original post, you made special mention of the paddle shifters, which is why I noted it earlier. My advice is when you are taking into consideration all the pros and cons of the two types of transmissions (for your personal situation), I would recommend you not use the paddles as any type of deciding factor.
