run over it with your finger nai and if your nail gets caught in the scratch its to deep to be removed with compounding <---last resort

go look for a red car in your neighborhood and see if they have some missing paint.

If you think its not a scratch and its just paint off another car, then you can probably take it off.

Try claybar, if that does not work use a product like scratch X or just some vinager.

Also make sure you wax the area after.

misconception with the clay bar it only removes bonded surface contaminations after you wash the car.

also are you sure its a scratch and not a scuff? if its a scuff just rub at it with your finger see if some of comes off if not just take it to a detailer see what they can do with a cutting compound or polish
