Got T-Boned today... sucks a fat one.
If they end up repairing it and it never is the same, at least I can ride out the remainder of the lease and then just give it back. I don't know about you guys, but I never feel the same about a car after it's been in an accident.
thats the main reason I came to be a G owner!
that sucks i feel for you i've been t-boned before actually in november in my pilot and i was bugging out i told the cop that the color of my car was my make like i was so freaked out and it was weird because it wasnt my first accident
THAT FRACKING SUX BRO!!!! The gap insurance was a blessing in your case. That frame could be trouble but at least ur on a lease. That's a really good thing in your case. Best of luck bro!
When you get it back, you have to feel it.
Look at the repaired area from all angles.
Open the hood, get under it, open the door, look in the tire well, drive it forward, backward, turns in reverse and the forward direction.... the bent frame might make you feel a difference.
Check the alignment of the door as well. Pour water over the door to make sure it closes correctly and the wind noise isn't an issue.
Check the alignment of the hood. Open it and close it, compare the sides of the hood openings while closed. The gaps should be even or very close.
Take a picture of the damaged area with a digital camera and compare it with an area that wasn't damaged. The paint differences are noticeable to a camera lens, much more so than our naked eye. Make sure it's a close color match. Take the pic in the sunlight and in the shade.
Again, it's a lease so that's an upside!

That's really a crappy way to start the morning, and especially if you were just being nice to your coworkers.
It sucks to even have to say it - but it could have been worse, if he t-boned you a little farther back, you could have been hurt.
I would take your G to any collision shop that you feel good about. Your insurance company probably gets price breaks on parts (like not using OEM) at their collision shop.
Might even want to take it to your Infiniti dealer collision shop - seems like alot of mechanics/collision repair guys are just not used to working on our cars yet.
Let them learn on someone else's car
One other quick point - doesn't it seem like there is a "hit me" sign flashing in red letters on our cars some days? I know I own a red G, you think people would tend to see it , not attempt target practice with it.

that sucks man
i don't think i'd want my car anymore if that happened to it. i'd probably be smashing it with a hammer until it's totaled lol
good luck on the repairs. and at least it's a lease, you aren't stuck with it forever

Sorry to see that. And glad you weren't hurt. Like everyone is saying try to get a good body shop because we all know that most of them are horrible. My daughter got into an accident with her Honda, body shop fixed it and within a year the hood starting peeling.

Just got the estimate 5,314 worth of damage. Frame is fine, suspension is fine, headlight is fine. Scratch on the wheel they want to have fixed not replaced.
Basically it is a new door, new fender, new bumper, new side rockers. Matching the paint and removing/re-installing hinges, fender liners etc.
Guy said it was in a lot better shape than he originally thought. So we'll see.
Also they specify a non-sport rocker panel. My car is a sport though. Is there any difference?
Thanks for all the words of support. I've been just in the worst of moods all upset about this. Was nice to read some positive reinforcements. You all are right, cars come and go.
