It could be much worse. I mean, you have a loaner car which is great. If you bought a Nissan you would be hitching rides or something. They are repainting everything and taking car of you. They seem like they are doing a good job and not giving you a hard time. Nothing here that I see you can complain about. It sucks that the clear bra wasn't applied correctly and that you can complain about but still it is getting fixed. Just take it easy, enjoy the loaner, and wait for your beautiful car to come back to you nice and pretty.

Do they pay for gas in the loaner, if you have it a while and have to fill up?

To the OP- if you really want bad service, go buy a Toyota. The Toyota that I dumped to get this car was a complete pile and they would not back anything up. At least Infiniti is fixing everything for you and they gave you a loaner- fairly headache free. Just think- you are not putting miles, wear and tear on your own car for 2 weeks.

True I agree that they are fixing things but what does this say about their Quality Assurance folks in the back? These things should have been caught even before I look at it.

The swirl marks? Come on, anyone with half a brain knows you need to be careful with the buffer! True they may have a 3rd party do this but some manager type should have caught it before telling their customer the car is ready. Looks bad on their part and inconveniences the customer even further.

No one even apologized for their mistakes. They just said "hmmm well we'll see what we can do." Everytime they say they can fix it, something else goes wrong.

I'm just upset about the inconvenience of taking my car over there so many times when this is a NEW car. There shouldn't have been this many complications. An old car, yes I can understand, but a new car? It being on the Luxury side should also signify a better quality control factor.

Hopefully when I get it back I won't have to take it in other than for maintenance stuff...

I still love the HELL out of this car though!!

Quick question. What exactly is the clear bra? How is it applied? Is it an extra option? It sounds like a must have on a new car. Also, do most of you guys take your car back to the dealer where you purchased or what? I am getting my car from a dealer that is 200 miles away. Thanks and good luck with that bra.

This is the only post I've made about complaints really. It all started before I even drove off the lot. The car had scratches all over and they told me they would take care of them. When I brought the car in they buffed it but left swirl marks all over the driver side and passenger side doors! There was one particular scratch that they couldn't fix without repainting the whole thing because it was on the body of the car. When they first put the clear bra on, the day I picked up the car the clear bra on the side mirrors were already coming off!

I'm not supposed to have this many issues with a brand new car...I had less issues with my hand-me-downs!

I'm currently driving one of their 07 G35S Sedans. Let's just hope nothing else happens...
You've got every reason to be upset. I'm confident that things will workout fine in the end. I know it's tough, but it's not the end of the world.

Trust me, that isn't typical of a new car buying experience. The reason I asked your age originally was that I wondered if you were in your late teens/early twenties, and hadn't had much experience buying acrs in general.

Good luck!

I was going to have a clear bra put on my G35 coupe but I was warned against it. I was told that it DOES screw up the paint if you try to remove it and if left on too long, it will change the color.

(I know I'll probably have a bunch of people saying I'm wrong but I'm just telling you what I've been told.)

Let me pass along something that I learned on my old Acura TL site - when using touch-up paint, build up the nick above the surface. Then take a damp (water) rag with just a little mineral spirits on it (NOT lacquer thinner) and gently buff it back down flush with the paint surface.

It took me a few tries to get it right, but once you buff it out with a little polish and wax, you can't tell there was ever a nick. Now this just works for small chips, but that's the majority of the problem I have on my car.

I've had 6 or 7 clear bra's and never a problem with the paint, they were all 3m though which might make a difference. Is it a possibility that your front end was repainted before you bought it? That soft of paint might stick to a bra.
