and the car does drive. i gave my car to the tinter and he took the car to the underground garage to tint. he came up an hour later for the keys bc he couldnt bring the car outside because the keys were still in my pocket

You're still able to lock it when you walk away right (can't remember) so even if you leave it on, its locked.

I've done it before on my first car, (not a G). Went to the movies. Good thing it wasn't a 3 hour film.

yeah, my car beeps rapidly if i walk away with the key.

It wouldnt make sense to just shut off, imagine if you were on the highway and the battery died in your smart key....and the car just shut off....

^^Yeah, if yours shuts off, you have something quite rare indeed. It will run until you push the button regardless of where the key is.
To the OP, you are to be congratulated for coming on here and sharing this with us. Not sure I would have the Bals to do that...

That's why you get a 6MT. You always put the ebrake on and then put it in first gear. So if you are absent minded enough to leave the car one, when you put it in first and let the clutch out you're gonna kill the engine, and possibly lunge forward into a wall. Thus why manual drivers tend to not leave their engines running

The car even beeps at you when you walk off.

LOL... You get a 6MT in case you forget to turn the car off? LOL!!!!
Please don't park near me bro...

...just like one would remember to turn off the ingnition in a conventionally started car- 6MT or 5AT or whatever you remember to press the button. To me it is a natural instinct.
But at anyrate with the car running and all of the systems on one would have to be extremely distracted to forget to turn their car off.
