then what is the use? One of the bigger selling points for me was that it was a good theft deterrant and that included that they can't drive it away far even if they get it starting. ARG!

at least it wasn't in the garage... Ideally it should be if the car is in park and loses signal then it shuts off after a few minutes (Thus avoiding the whole highway issue)

I once had my girlfriend hold my key in her purse and dropped her off at the store and went to the bank and had no problems driving without the key for about 5-10 minutes.

I dont know much about the smart key, im still in the process of purchasing my g. I know it has push button start, but does it also have remote start? My buddy has a cadi STS and starts his car from his room when he wakes up, the *** warmers, defroster, and heat turn on automatically for the winter time. Maybe a stupid question but j/w.

to the op, i think its time you get a loud a$$ exhaust
this way you'll have something to remind you that the car is still on when you're walkin out.. you'll need intakes if you prefer doing reverse parkings lol

Some cars have problems probably lubricating the cylinder well at idle RPMS.

Do some of you hold on to your brake pedal while you turn off your car? I have a 5 speed so I got used to pressing the brake pedal to start it. It also became a habit sometime when I turn off my car.

I know that while in gear, the car can still be turn off by pressing the button. I wonder if it would shut off (not that i would try) if your knee accidentally hit the off button during driving... That would be really dangerous if it can.

Ok I will admit, I did this too last month. Its the first time its happened in 3 years though ( I had an 06 G35C since september 2005 before I got the 37C). It was a Monday morning, I had a some personal issues I was dealing with and was very distracted getting out of the car in the parking garage. I turned the radio off, the AC off and then usually I hit the start button next, BUT not this time, I did lock the car though. This was 6:30AM. So I return to my car at 4:30PM and see that my lights are on. I was confused cuz even if I had left the lights in the non-auto position, the battery saver should have cut them off after a while...so I go closer only to realize it was on. It was an underground parking garage and I was close to the wall, so when I get in the Navi screen is black and showing a message that said "HDD Error, extreme temperature, will resume normal function once it reaches normal temp" I was very anxious driving home for the next 20 mins, had the AC on full blast at 60 deg. Finally the map reappeared, but it wouldnt move around for a while, and the audio controls wouldnt respond on screen, but finally everything reset. I had just filled up a full tank the previous night, and 10 hours of idling used up exactly half a tank of gas.

You would have to have a very weirdly angled knee for that to happen. I have not intentionally tried turning it off while rolling though.
