Ok, so here's my story. . .

I finally went to our island's ONLY Infiniti dealer and got to test drive and talk figures with prices and trade-in value for my FJ cruiser.

My price qoute is for a 2008 Blue Slate / Graphite G37S, 6MT, Premium Package, spoiler and splash guards. $42,760.
Keep in mind I live in a tiny island so the dealer mark up is expected ( I was actually expecting it to be more )
Now here's where it gets interesting.....
My salesman told me they did not have the exact car that I wanted (they only had 3 left on the lot) so I will have to special order it. Now, he goes on saying that they may or may not have anymore 2008's coming in so I will most likely have to special order, which will be a 2009 model. So I asked him how long would the wait be and he said 3 months from April.

Although I know that there wouldn't be much difference in looks and features between '08 and '09, Getting the '09 model would be much better in more ways than one.

Can anyone verify if the 2009 models will be out around that time (June - August), is it just sales talk. Seems too early to be true for me.

 

That sounds pretty early for a 09. But who knows? See if you can at least get Nav with that pricing. That's just crazy high, even though price is expected to be higher due to your location.

 

I'm guessing around late August or early September for the 09s.

 

if i were you, i would wait for the 09 model. they probably get rid some of the bugs that they had on the 08. you never know, the 09 probably gain some tq...but the decision is up to you though, good luck with it.

 

fck 09 the worlds ending 2012 might as well enjoy your G37 for a 1/2 year longer

 

I'm thinking your probably gonna get a better discount on the '08 and might pay a higher markup price for an '09 when it comes out. So how's Guam? I lived there for 9 years back in the late 70's, early 80's.

 

Fortunately, we all learned how to count higher now so we're good.

 

Time flys by. It was about a year ago when the G37 first started makign the press. But I think that it will be at least August September before an '09 model is actually released.

 

I'm hoping to put an order in for an '09 sometime in July. Held off hoping there would be some advantage. Maybe a 6 speed auto. Or maybe not...

this whole speculation of when the next model year will come out is getting lame. only reason why a company would introduce a new model year is if sales are not moving as expected because of technical and asethetics details. so to really figure out if a new model will be arriving soon, check infiniti's sales data. thats all there is to it.... well sorta, unless if your' mitsu with their eclipse.

 

sounds to early to me... might want to double check with some other dealers (even though you cant buy from them) to see if they say the same dates..

Yes. Nissan skipped the 2008 model of the Murano. The old design was the 2007 and the new body is the 2009.
