They are getting the self-healing paint. Why couldn't Infiniti include that in the USDM G37?

Wow I didn't know that both the Coupe and the Sedan are detuned to 306hp 258lb-ft. Wonder how hard it would be for them to open that engine back up for the 330hp. They do get the self-healing paint and the 7speed auto though, wish we got those here. I would look for the mid MY update (2009-2010) for both the G37 and G35 to include both the self-healing paint and the 7 speed AT.

The self healing paint will be included in all Infiniti models either next year or the year after.

SELF HEALING PAINT! WHY THE F didnt we get it. We should all write Infiniti and tell them to upgrade our paint. That pisses me off.

"Scratch what? Infinitis will all get a clever 'elastic resin' paint which, like the Terminator reforming, squeezes back over scratches to keep your bodywork looking pristine."

If its an "elastic resin paint" what are the chances you guys think that we could maybe pay for a coat of that paint to go over our paint on our current G's? Think it could be done for under $1,500????

The article said 306 and 258 to the wheels. So will it be more powerful?

i wouldn't be so quick to jump on the self healing paint band wagon. just what kind of finish quality would one get with this? how durable is it to buffing and waxing, etc.? until they technology is completely perfected, i wouldn't want to buy a car and be a test market quinea pig.

I don't believe so, I think maybe the wrong words were used in that article. I've never seen a manufacturer advertise power ratings for a car with whp usually it's bhp. Who knows though, here's another article on it that was posted earlier which is comparing the ratings to the bhp ratings on the North American VQ37, so it sounds like a bhp comparison.

Even more interesting to me is this 7 speed automatic. Does anyone know what that's about.
