You know you own a G37 when…
You hear the cam chain tensioners not doing their job when idling - and they quiet down all is well. This of course make you wonder how long it’ll be before they need replacement. It’s been almost four years owning this car and it’s been a concern from the start yet… the clock is ticking….
When you get pissed off that you cannot use the recirculation mode without the A/C compressor turning on (THANKS Infiniti 🤬
.
When you can’t help but look back at your car after parking it.
When you downshift for no other reason than to revel in the mellifluous tones ripping from your exhaust.
When you park on the far side of the parking lot so nobody will park next to you.
When you’re shopping at Costco and can’t buy the case of paper towels because you’re trunk is the size of a thimble.
When 370Z owners brag to you about a fraction of a second yet they secretly covet your vestigial back seat, better build quality and luxury features.
When you hate the fact that Infiniti abandoned manual transmissions.
When you hope that the Nissan 400Z’s stick portends one will return to Infiniti.

Anyway, on topic: when you feel the car rock a little extra side to side off of a cold start.
Funny you should say that… I wrote my last post while sitting in an Autozone parking lot while researching batteries. I ordered an AGM from Costco which they’re delivering to my home where I’ll install it myself - hopefully for the last time until at least 2029.
I stopped burning through batteries years ago after I started using a trickle charger. Car only sees a few thousand miles a year these days, and the battery is 6 years old now. Before that... yeah, it was something like every 3 years.
For comparo, my Red Top was installed 10/26/2017 at 103,002 miles. Slightly over 8 years later and barely 120k miles the battery is still going strong. But, I always have a "jumper pack" in the trunk just in case...

+1 trickle chargers too. The G37 sits on one pretty much all the time (at this point, last time I drove it was August 2025) and I've got another one for the Audi when we go on longer vacations.
