Auto Door Locking

Can any one tell me if you can set our cars to automatically lock the doors at like 10mph?

If so, how and where do i go to set it.

thanks,

dont believe this is available, also it seems to be one of the main minor complaints for things that were overlooked in many people's opinons.

i understand this is a luxury car.. but how hard is it to simply hit a button. another thing... people who can afford a 40k car are probably not driving in an area that locking doors is necessary.

Because you pay 40k for a car so you don't have to think about those things. You assume that for 40k the manufacturer was smart enough to remember to include those features.

actually there are a lot of cars (that are even higher priced) that do not come with this feature. most companies that do not offer this feature think of it as being a safety procaution just incase you get into an accident and someone needs to pull you out of the car.

I wanted the auto door lock feature but not so sure anymore since you can't open the door by pulling on the handle inside the car when it is locked. If this could be setup with an aftermarket system then I would probably get it. I hate having to hit the unlock button to get out of the car.

I don't care much for it honestly. I'm fine the way it was (the two times I drove it)

I actaully find that feature very annoying and have defeated in every car I have owned that had it. My wife had me turn that feature off in her Odyssey because she always had to unlock the doors for my kids on every single little romp through the neighborhood. Autolock is just dumb, sorry

Probably no harder than inserting a key in the ignition, but that's not the point.

I for one which we had that feature because I have become accustomed to it on my Acuras. After five months, I'm still not locking the door all of the time. I lock my doors more for the door staying closed in case of an accident, as opposed to the fear of someone trying to get in.

Before my G, I never could understand the infatuation with push button starts or a nav system. I will NEVER own another car without either one now.

Looks like Ford and some GM cars got it right.

Ford:
Auto lock when the car is rolling, auto unlock at the same time the passenger lifts/pulls the inside door handle.

GM:
Auto lock when the car is rolling, auto unlock when the car is put into "P" (parked).

I believe Nissan does not equip their cars with auto door locking. which includes all Infinitis. i have no clue to why tho..

it is a pretty big hassle IMO considering all the other cars i've owned had auto-locking.

Not too worried about getting car jacked....jackamo!

I am just used to having that happen and be programmed to do that function. Even my 1998 VW Passat had this function.

Just a question....unbunch your panties now!
